[Exterior of Elisabet Ney Studio]

Photograph of men, women, and children enjoy the outdoors outside of Elisabet Ney's sculpture studio. Bare tree branches and coats indicate the season is probably late fall or winter. This is the south elevation of the studio which is made of stone. In 1892, European portrait sculptor Elisabet Ney (1833-1907) purchased property in Austin at 304 East 44th Street, established a studio named Formosa, and resumed her career as a noted sculptor. Ney sculpted and collected portraits of notable Texans and Europeans. Following Ney’s death in 1907, her friends preserved the studio and its contents as the Elisabet Ney Museum and established the Texas Fine Arts Association dedicated to her memory.

Henderson's Garage, Marshall, Texas

Black and white halftone postcard showing Henderson's Garage in Marshall, Texas, located on the south side of the square, west of the city hall. The service bays were inserted into an older one-story brick masonry building. The two open bays have a sign above them saying "Auto Repair Shop" and a smaller sign between them saying "Gasoline 10 cents." The third bay is closed with a bench in front of it, and the fourth bay has the sign "Accessories" above it. Above all four bays a projecting corrugated iron canopy has "Ford" painted in large letters on it. "Henderson's Garage" is painted on the brick wall above the canopy and a separate commercial sign saying "Henderson's Garage" is mounted on top of the brick facade wall. Printed at the top of the image in red ink is the title "Henderson's Garage, Marshall, Texas." Printed on the left edge of the back: "39288 - Frey Wholesale Post Card Co., Pubs., Dallas." The card is addressed to Mrs. John Eguer, Garfield, Minn.
