Resolution introduced in the U. S. House of Representatives granting an increase of pension to Joseph M. Pound for his service during the Mexican American War at $20 extra a month.

Delegate's certificate presented to Dr. Joseph Pound for his good standing in camp number 946 U. C. V. Pound had been appointed as one of the delegates of this camp on May 8, 1905 to the "Fifteenth Annual Reunion and Convention of United Confederate Veterans, to be held at Louisville, Ky."

Letter from A. F. Hicks to Dr. Joseph Pound concerning the upcoming reunion of the old Confederate brigade that they were apart of. Hicks tells the doctor to wear his uniform if possible and that he will send another paper that "will give you General order No 1. calling for the meeting of the Brigade in July." Also included is a newspaper clipping that details the reunion of the Mountain Remnant Brigade of the Confederate veterans, and calls for bids "for the leasing of the Reunion Ground Privileges."

Letter from A. F. Hicks to Dr. Joseph Pound in regards to the doctor's 80th birthday and the fact that he will not be able to attend on account of his wife being "so unwell and delicate."

Letter from Albert Sydney Burleson to Dr. Joseph Pound detailing instructions on how to apply and be provided an increase in pensions from $12 to $16 as per his service in the Mexican American War. There is an enclosed document that shows the actual act of Congress that was passed to gain this increase; in part the act reads: "any person who served ninety days or more...during the late civil war or sixty days in the war with Mexico...be entitled to receive a pension as follows..." There is a three-tiered pension setup, those who are sixty two years or older gets $12, seventy years get $16, and seventy five or older get $20.

Letter from Albert Sydney Burleson to Dr. Joseph Pound concerning Pound's wish for an increase in pensions; Burleson tells him to bring himself "within the same category of those who have heretofore been granted increases" and there will be no problem obtaining an increase. At the end of the letter he tells the doctor not to have his secretary speak for him as "she is not very popular with the members" of the respective committee.

Letter from Albert Sydney Burleson to Dr. Joseph Pound saying that he has enclosed a letter from the Bureau of Pensions "showing that your claim for increase pension to $16.00 per month has been allowed." The enclosed document, signed by V. Warner, does say that the "pension has been allowed at $16.00 per month from June 6, 1906."

Letter from Amalia Riley to Dr. Joseph Pound concerning recent horse thefts taking place at their home; Amalia and her husband put in a claim as her neighbors had done in order to gain some depredation money. Riley asks Pound for any information he may have about the situation and wishes him well and hopes he and his daughters had a nice time visiting.

Letter from D. L. Yoas to Dr. Joseph Pound discussing recent events such as the fact that Pound's son had stayed a few nights with them and that he would like to come and get the peach trees the doctor had offered him. At the end of the letter he wishes the doctor and his family a "Merry Christmas and happy New Year."

Letter from Dr. J. W. Harrison to Dr. Joseph Pound asking him to please find the grave of Mrs. Harrison's father located somewhere on Wallace Mountain in Dripping Springs, Texas. He goes on to talk about his medical practice and asks if Dr. Pound is still practicing, and discusses old times and their ever growing age.

Letter from Fanny Hamilton to Dr. Joseph Pound letting him know she was aware of his impending visit in August, though she asks him to come in September or October as the weather would be cooler and more pleasureful. She goes on to describe their crops and that they have had an abundance or rain leading to a good crop yield.

Letter from George P. Fuilay to Dr. Joseph Pound telling him to correspond with Mrs. Murdock in order to acknowledge his presence at the upcoming reunion in St. Louis. Fuilay says that Murdock had told him that the "Texas & Pacific and Iron Mountain Railways will give our comrades free passage to St. Louis."

Letter from Ida Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, letting him know that she hopes he will be able to come and visit in the near future; she also hopes that cousins "Dr. and Fannie Hamilton will meet you here next month."

Letter from Ida Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, mostly describing her mother's accident in which she fell at her house and messed up her leg causing her to be confined to her bed for at least six weeks. She goes on to say that she wants him to come and visit the next time he comes up; she also asks about the rest of the family and how they are doing.

Letter from Idee Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, asking when he would be out their way to visit, as he is going to "the fair before the weather gets too warm." She mentions that they are now moved and comfortably living in their new home; they have had a lot of rain over the last two weeks.

Letter from Ida Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, discussing her upcoming visit to his place; her husband's business will keep them from visiting until the middle of November but hope to "stay a few weeks." Ida also says that her mother is especially looking forward to the visit as she has not seen her grandchildren for a year.

Letter from Ida Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, discussing friends and family members who have come down with sickness; her mother and uncle have both become stricken to their beds and her sister Jessie's family have "had a serious time with Typhoid fever."

Letter from Margaret Kelly to Dr. Joseph Pound discussing her possible inability to come up to visit him and go to the upcoming reunion on account of her sister having gotten sick the other day.

Letter from Marguerite Cavett Hammack to "Bud," Dr. Pound's son, asking him to come visit her; she says that she is in the second reader and that they recently just got a new cow with a pretty calf.

Letter from Mrs. Moore Murdock to Dr. Joseph Pound detailing the transportation plans from Santa Fe to Fort Worth and stating departure and arrival dates.

Letter to Dr. Joseph Pound from Georgia Pound Cavett discussing recent rainfall and estimates on how much actually fell; also the sender discusses the status of other people in the community.

Letter to Dr. Joseph Pound from Mittie Pound Sorrell concerning to freezing weather up in Oklahoma; they look forward to moving once they are able to get out. She is sorry that they will not be able to make it down for Christmas but do look forward to the next time they make it down.

Letter written by Marguerite Cavett Hammack as a child; at the beginning she asks for the receiver of the letter that she wishes they were there. Most of the language in the letter is not very legible.

Postcard from a man named Lawrence to Birdie Walters with a photograph of some of the student tents at "A. & M. College, Texas." These tents are line up next to a long row of trees and in front of two large buildings seen in the background. The note on the reverse side of the card discusses Lawrence's possible trip to San Marcos on the train in the coming days and that he would love to see her at the depot.
