Photograph of Mads Andersen wearing a Danish Army uniform, in which he served. Afterwards, he traveled to America in 1880 and arrived in Danevang, Texas in 1894. Mads Andersen was born July 24th, 1857 in Fyn, Denmark. He died October 11, 1938 and was buried at Danevang Lutheran Cemetery.

Legal document inaugurating the Danish Mutual Insurance Company's corporate membership, filed through the Secretary of State's office in Austin, Texas, and signed under a notary. The document specifies a twenty year lifetime minimum and the seven men of the first board of directors who will be in charge of insuring both Wharton and Matagorda counties. They are as follows : Neils Christian Jensen, Marcus Nielsen, Helvig Jensen Berndt, H. P. Hermansen, Jasper J. Juhl, Marcus Christensen, and Niels M. Hansen.

Certificate from Sigrid Larsen Wind's baptism at Danevang Church written in Danish. There is an illustration at the top of the document of a female angel holding a basin. She is inside a circular motif with a line of bold text going around the top. Additionally, two paper scrolls unroll from leafy branches that decorate the top third of the document. In these scrolls, there are biblical passages from the gospels of John and Mark. Translated from Danish, the passages from John and Mark read: "Unless one is born of water and spirit, he can not be received into God's kingdom" - John 3. 5. "Whosoever believes and is baptized shall be saved, but whoever does not believe shall be damned" - Mark 16. 16. Two more detailed illustrations flank the right and left hand-written parts of the document. The one on the left is of a tall tree in the middle of a deserted, sloping terrain. The image opposite it is of a sailing ship bearing the Danish flag in a large body of water. Four more paragraphs of text are on the bottom flanking an embossed seal.

Certificate of naturalization given to Helvig Jensen Berndt by the United States Department of Commerce and Labor. A black and white illustration of an eagle emblem is at the very top, flanked by the title of the document. The text on the page gives the names of Helvig's children and wife as well as a short physical description of Helvig. There is hand-written text on the back of the document which reads, "H. J. Berndt is U. S. Citizen since May 4, 1908."

It is a two-story structure with intersecting gable roofs and several double-hung windows. A barn with a wide gable roof can be seen to the right. Two men are in the foreground on the leftmost part of the image. A horse-drawn wagon joins them. The two men have been identified as Anders H. and Helvig J. Berndt. The photograph has been placed on a stiff mat board which has chipped considerably on the bottom left corner.

The photograph has been placed on a dark mat with an embossed linear border that frames the photograph. On the back, there is hand-written text. It reads: "H. J. Berndt Danevang, Texas. Please return to A. E. Berndt. C. M. Nissen on far right married to Katherine Lauritsen. CIRCA 1908."

Copy negative of a black and white photograph professionally taken in 1906 of Hans Peter Jensen's five children. They are posed in front of a textured background and on top of a rug that looks like it is made of animal fur. The three older children stand behind the two youngest children, who are seated and dressed in a similar fashion. The sole girl wears a white dress, stockings, and shoes and is placing her hand on the chair upon which her younger sibling sits. The eldest boy stands in the center in a suit and tie. His younger brother stands to the right of him, also in a suit, and places his hand on the chair of the sibling seated in front of him.

Photograph of an alter and baptismal font inside the Ansgar Church of Danevang, Texas. The shaft of the baptismal front has been ornamented with rounded bands and supports a rounded basin. Behind it, a wooden step leads up to an alter flanked by wooden furniture. The alter is composed of a wooden table covered by a tablecloth with an ornamented design trim. Two floral arrangements and two candle-holders are on each side of the tabletoo. A seven-branched candelabrum has been placed directly on the center of the table, which stands before a large framed painting of religious icons engaging with a leaning figure. The painting's frame is topped by a cross. Hand-written text in pencil on the back of the photograph cannot be read with certainty. A black stamp indicates, "Danish Heritage Society P. O. Box 386 Danevang, TX 77432".
