Petticoat

White cotton combination petticoat. Tank-style camisole bodice with adjustable front neckline. Cotton tape drawstring. The rounded neckline and armholes are scallop cut and finished with satin-stitch secured cotton lace. The center front of the camisole bodice is embroidered with floral white work centered with a monogrammed "C". The bodice side seams are inset with crocheted cotton lace edged with feather-stitching. Center back opening with eleven tailored buttonholes. The buttons have been removed. The back opening is detailed with feather-stitching. Natural waist seam with inserted waistband panel of eyelet lace. The full camisole front gathers into the waistband. Narrow, ankle-length, three panel skirt with turned back hem edged in cotton machine-made lace. A 15" wide gathered flounce is applied 15" above the hem. The flounce is slightly gathered and joined to the skirt with eyelet lace insertion. The flounce is embellished with white work embroidered ovals of daisies. The flounce hem is scalloped with satin-stitch applied machine-made lace. The flounce is open at the left side seam.

Tam-O-Shanter style purse of faceted jet black beads with ornate circular gold colored closure. Top has open filigree work along sides with lid in rose and leave motif; mirror inside of lid. Flip clasp closure. Ball and fringe tassel of black beads on bottom. Linked chain handle. Lined in rose colored silk. Measurements: 8 cm diameter of top; 20 cm from top to bottom of bag, excluding tassel.
