She served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1929-1933 representing Florida's Fourth Congressional District. She served as an Ambassador to Denmark from 1933-1936. The photo is black and white. In the portrait Mrs. Owen wears a pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Her hair is gray and is waved. She wears a floral print dress, only the collar can be seen. The background is all white.
