In the upper left corner, there is an inset showing "Northern Texas on the same scale as the larger Map" and a second inset in the lower left corner has a "Map of the Vicinity of Galveston City" which has a different scale. The map includes major cities, roads, and geographic levels (relief shown with hachures). All of the counties are drawn in and labeled. The back side of the map shows all of the major roads, railroads, cities, and counties of Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Each state is shaded in a different color.
