Some parts of the map are shaded in green. Mexican states are labeled and cities, bodies of water, and geographic features are marked (with relief shown by hachures and spot heights). Beneath the title, there is a block of text labeled "Remarks" that describes the islands of the Caribbean. There is an inset (lower-left corner) showing the area between Mexico City and the city of Veracruz, but not the cities themselves. A second map is shown in an inset (lower left corner) which depicts the portion of Mexico that includes Mexico City and Vera Cruz. Scale [ca. 1:22,176,000]. Prime meridians: Greenwich and Washington.
