Copy of transcript for two letters, written in January 1798. The first, from Delassus de Luziere on January 15, 1798, asks that land belonging to the king be given to an unnamed man because he has proven himself to be a good farmer on land belonging to Mrs. Beauvair. The second, from Zenon Trudeau on January 21, 1798, informs the recipient that he will receive the land he has requested.

Correspondence between Santiago de Jesús Sánchez and Manuel de Escandón, Governor of Nuevo Santander. In this correspondence de Jesús Sánchez is asking for a land grant left by a deceased person without an heir.

Letter from Petra Sánchez Uribe to the Governor of Nuevo Santander asking for the release of her husband from jail, and retribution for goods taken in excess of amount due. The document itself has pieces of tape running down the right and left sides of the paper.

Letter from Maria Magdalena Gutierrez to Manuel de Escandón with a list of military persons in debt to Gutierrez. The list at the beginning shows each person and how much they owe; Gutierrez requests that there be enforcement to pay these debts.

Petition from Jose Antonio Garzia Davila to the Conde de Sierra Gorda for a land grant, which is later granted by the Conde. The document itself has a seal stamped at the top of the page, and is slightly frayed.

Request made by José Fernando Vidaurri to finance the purchase of cattle with his ranch. According to the governor's response, this request was granted.

Message from Santiago de Jesús Sánchez to José Jesús de la Garza, captain of the militia, informing him of an individual breaking the law. According to the message the man, from Lampasos, is selling liquor and setting up games; de Jesús Sánchez asks whether the law should be enforced. de la Garza responds by saying the liquor should be destroyed and the man, Alexandro Escalera, be thrown in jail.

Printed edict from the Viceroy of New Spain, by order of the King of Spain, with rules and regulations concerning military prisoners. The edict states that these regulations are to be observed when removing prisoners from their place of refuge, and are to be followed across the nation with respect to the Church and clergy.

Official record from José Jesús de la Garza to the Governor of Nuevo Santander stating that José Martín Morales has sold his portion of land grant #40 in la Villa de Burgos to Julio Jose Quintana for 25 pesos in order to settle a debt. The document is severely torn on the right side of the paper and has small holes throughout the interior.

Request from the Conde de la Sierra Gorda to officials from ten villages in Nuevo Santander. The Conde asks for statement of the financial condition of all persons in the "medio cabildo" from 1787 to 1794.

Five decrees published by the Conde de la Sierra Gorda while in Laredo. Decrees range from August 1796 to October 1796 and cover topics concerning religious authorities following canon law; amnesty for all persons not guilty of serious crimes; and legal regulations.

Announcement from the Conde de la Sierra Gorda saying the bishop is visiting and that townspeople should take proper measures for care, reception, etc. The document is stained in the upper right corner and has a piece of tape down the left side of the paper.

Notice from José Antonio Xuáregui to Spanish officials in nearby towns to be on the lookout from two criminals, wanted for murder. The notice is signed by each official in the northern towns acknowledging their having received and passed on the notice.

Two copies of a message from José Miguel de Cuellar to the justicia in Laredo saying that a woman in Revilla wants her inheritance, which is being managed by her second husband, returned to her. In addition to this request the woman wants an account given for said inheritance.

Message from José de Jesús de la Garza saying that Miguel Ponce Borrego has legalized the ownership of a house.

Message from José de Jesús de la Garza with a request from María Inés Díaz for settlement over a land problem. The document itself has tears on the edges covered in tape.

Orders sent to five villas, Reynosa, Camargo, Mier, Revilla, and Laredo, from the Intendent to collect taxes and send the money. The smaller document says that this is for the year 1791, and lists out the months of January, March, June, November, and December.
