This envelope has three stamps on it in the upper right corner, two are of George Washington, and one is of Abraham Lincoln; the illustration on the bottom left corner shows a boot stepping on the heads of the three Axis Powers leaders: Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito.

Ration book application and identification stub belongingto Marjorie N. Forester in Roscoe, Texas. The identification stub has instructions that read: "After completing this application, tear off this stub and be sure to keep it until you get your war ration book no. 3." The application says it must be mailed between June 1 and June 10, 1943.

Report concerning the status of the financial account balance of Company B 49th Armored Infantry Battalion, signed by Charles R. Griggs and two other men. The statement shows that this company has $89.84 on hand, with no cash in the bank; the next section shows that these funds were transferred from Griggs to Walter E. Alroud, with a final certification signed off at the bottom of the page. The text at the top of the second page acknowledging that the company's funds were "audited and found correct."

Western Union telegram from Tom Connaly to Mrs. Ellen McReynolds in Merkel, Texas. There is a note on the telegram that reads: "INFORMATION FROM BRIG GENERAL NATHAN B FORREST IS THAT PRIVATE G W MCREYNOLDS DISCHARGE WILL BE EFFECTED WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK="

Set of five "B" gas ration stamps used during the war. Each stamp has "B7" printed on it and the license plate/state of the individual's automobile.

Minutes from the April 26, 1945 meeting with the burgomasters of the Kreis Wernigerode in Wernigerode, Germany. These notes are typed and discuss the interactions during the meeting, declarations made by Mr. Troquet, and amounts of food needed in kilograms. The notes at the end discuss the financial situations in each of the communities nearby.

Certificate of retirement from the "Armed Forces of the United States of America" to Lieutenant Colonel Charles R. Griggs. The certificate reads: "To All Who Shall See These Presents, Greeting: This Is To Certify That Lieutenant Colonel Charles R. Griggs...Was Retired From The United States Army." This certificate was signed by the Chief of Staff of the United States Army, Edward C. Meyer; there is a letter from W. T. Prescott accompanying the certificate with details of Griggs' status on the retired list.

Ration book application signed by Beatrice Clementine Blewett in Alexandria, Louisiana. The note on the bottom right corner says "This application must be mailed between June 1 and June 10, 1943. After June 10th, applications will not be accepted before August 1. Affix postage before mailing."

Western Union telegram from Ida Mae and Thurman to Mr. and Mrs. G. W. [McReynolds] with a note saying: "DAD DUNCAN DIED SATURDAY PM FUNERAL SUNDAY 5 PM= IDA MAE AND THURMAN."

Set of "A" Basic Mileage Ration stamps used for rationing gas during the war; these stamps belong F. D. Wyatt of Abilene, Texas. Most of the stamps in this set have been used, only six are left; on the back of the card Wyatt wrote his name and address under the "Certification of Bookholder."

Mileage Ration Identification Folder belonging to F. D. Wyatt, according to the card it is valid from September 1944 to December 1944. The card is folded in half to create a place to keep gas ration stamps inside of; Wyatt was granted "E" stamps for his use.

A set of stamps used for gas rationing during the war; the title of the sheet is "Basic Mileage Ration." This sheet belongs to Earl Bunkley of Sweetwater, Texas, he had used three of the stamps on this sheet leaving seven still attached.

War Ration Book No. 3 belonging to Marie L. Backhaus from Loraine, Texas. The front of the book contains information about Marie: age, sex, weight, height, and address. There are 6 different sheets of ration stamps inserted inside of the book.

Extract from an official document from the United States Army confirming orders for the men in the 8th Armored Division to be reassigned to different organizations. Captain Charles R. Griggs is first on the list and has been assigned to the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. The second page that is stapled to the back is a copy of the first page.

Identification card of Ray H. Farris, he was a private in the military; the card shows his information including age, height, weight, etc. His mugshot is placed on the bottom left corner of the card and his thumbprint is placed on the bottom right corner.

Mileage ration folder belonging to F. D. Wyatt, valid from June 13, 1945 until September 13, 1945. This card is folded down the center creating a place to put coupons for gas rations inside; the note on the front says: "Any Person Finding Lost Coupons Should Mail or Return Them at Once to the Nearest War Price and Rationing Board."

Application for home canning sugar coupons belonging to Mrs. F. D. Wyatt. The text on the back of the slip discusses why sugar supplies are so low; the shortage is partly due to increased need overseas, not as much being brought to the U. S. and people the previous year "over-applied for canning sugar."

Award and Decoration Record card sent to Ray E. Farris in honor of his service during the war. The card says: " THIS CERTIFIES THAT Ray E. Farris, 38101293 is authorized by proper authority to wear the following..." On the left side of the fold there is a list of the medals he won and how he earned them.

War Ration Book One with a certificate of ownership on the left side of the fold, Frank and Lou Wyatt being the owners of the book. On the back of the fold there is a "Certificate of Registrar" with Frank Wyatt's information including height, address, age, etc.

List of names and ranks of the men in a certain battalion; the names are divided into different platoons: 1st Rifle Platoon, 2nd Rifle Platoon, 3rd Rifle Platoon, Anti-Tank Platoon, HQ Platoon. The names of the men are listed to the right of their rank underneath their assigned platoon name.

War Ration Book Four belonging to F. D. Wyatt with his full address written on the front cover. There are four pages of stamps inserted inside the booklet, and some lose strips of stamps having been torn out.
