Drug Solubility Correlation Using the Jouyban–Acree Model: Effects of Concentration Units and Error Criteria

Article investigates the unit and error scale expression effects on the accuracy of the Jouyban–Acree model, in the current study, seventy-nine solubility data sets were collected randomly from the published articles and solute and solvent concentrations in the investigated systems were expressed in various units. Mass fraction, mole fraction, and volume fraction were the employed concentration units for the solvent compositions, and mole fraction, molar, and gram/liter were the investigated concentration units for the solutes. The solubility data, with various solute/solvent concentration units, were correlated using the Jouyban–Acree model, and the accuracy of each model for correlating the data was investigated by calculating different error scales and discussed.

Insights into the Bioinformatics and Transcriptional Analysis of the Elongator Complexes (ELPs) Gene Family of Wheat: TaELPs Contribute to Wheat Abiotic Stress Tolerance and Leaf Senescence

Article states that elongator complexes (ELPs) are the protein complexes that promote transcription through histone acetylation in eukaryotic cells and interact with elongating RNA polymerase II. ELPs’ role in plant growth and development, signal transduction, and response to biotic and abiotic stresses have been confirmed in model plants, but the functions of the wheat ELP genes are not well documented. The present study identified 18 members of the ELPs from the wheat genome with a homology search.

Biocultural Calendars Across Four Ethnolinguistic Communities in Southwestern South America

Article describes how, since the mid-20th century, the so-called Great Acceleration has amplified processes of ecosystem degradation, extinction of biological species, displacement of local peoples, losses of languages, and cultural diversity. The authors examine cultural practices and socio-environmental changes across four contrasting ethnolinguistic communities in southwestern South America, from southern to northern Chile along a marked climatic gradient to show the broad application of the concept of biocultural calendars.

Badly approximable points on self-affine sponges and the lower Assouad dimension (open access)

Badly approximable points on self-affine sponges and the lower Assouad dimension

This article highlights a connection between Diophantine approximation and the lower Assouad dimension by using information about the latter to show that the Hausdorff dimension of the set of badly approximable points that lie in certain non-conformal fractals, known as self-affine sponges, is bounded below by the dynamical dimension of these fractals. The results, which are the first to advance beyond the conformal setting, encompass both the case of Sierpiński sponges/carpets (also known as Bedford–McMullen sponges/carpets) and the case of Barański carpets.
