The Music Library Picture Show: Creating a "Third Place" for Denton Students: Final Report

Report states that the aim of the Music Library Picture Show demonstration was to learn about how event programming affects student attitudes about the library and to position the library as a viable "third place" for UNT students and visiting high school students. The project members promoted the events with the assistance of UNT Libraries Communications and Marketing which includes posters, small flyers, lawn signs, etc. Their results discuss the outcome of various events put on by the library, and how users felt about the events.

This article discusses the history of the Don Cossack Choir which was established and conducted by Serge Jaroff while in a Turkish internment camp in 1920. Once liberated, they concertized throughout the non-Soviet world and enjoyed long-term success. However, the choir has received little scholarly attention, much of it in Dutch and Russian research.

A World Famous, Yet Unknown, Countertenor: Basile Bolotine of Serge Jaroff’s Don Cossack Choir

This article concerns the artistry and career of Basile Bolotine, 1895-1981, a beloved countertenor soloist in Serge Jaroff's Don Cossack Choir. It was a world-famous a cappella Russian emigre ensemble that toured extensively all over the non-Soviet world for nearly sixty years. Bolotine had a long tenure with them, and through his recorded legacy, his music is still cherished. However, his name has remained largely unknown. This essay introduces him by name to those who have and have not yet experienced his music.
