Biomimics of [FeFe]-hydrogenases incorporating redox-active ligands: synthesis, redox properties and spectroelectrochemistry of diiron-dithiolate complexes with ferrocenyl-diphosphines as Fe4S4 surrogates

Article prepares and characterizes a small series of new [FeFe]-ase biomimics which contain a ferrocenyl diphosphine as a surrogate for the Feâ‚„Sâ‚„ moiety in the H-cluster of the enzyme. Mechanistic details of both proton reduction and Hâ‚‚ oxidation have been studied by DFT allowing speculative reaction schemes to be developed.

Filling the Gap: A Focus on Accessibility and Curriculum in Equipment Lending

Collection Assessment Through DEI Lenses: Venturing into (nearly) uncharted waters

Presentation for a panel discussing UNT Libraries' journey to address systemic and systematic vestiges of oppression of socially and politically minoritized populations. For this purpose, the Collection Assessment Department is planning on evaluating the UNT Libraries’ collections, identifying sources of diverse materials, and connecting with our communities. Article describes a study of the drug Meloxicam in N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP)–aqueous mixtures at several temperatures to expand the solubility database about pharmaceutical compounds in aqueous–mixed solvents. Meloxicam is preferentially hydrated in water-rich mixtures but preferentially solvated by NMP in the composition interval of 0.16 < x1 < 1.00.

Novel thin polymeric magnetic membranes study for applications in the future biomedical devices

Article describes how biomedical devices such as pumping/mixing fluids, cell-culturing, and drug delivery often use different actuation methods. In regard to magnetic actuation, membranes with a local distribution of magnetic particles are investigated and compared to membranes with randomly distributed magnetic particles, which in turn may enhance the actuation performance for certain applications.
