This article describes recent developments, issues, and opportunities associated with the production and use of Ti and its alloys in aerospace components. Included are new Ti alloys, new applications of Ti alloys, and the current status of several manufacturing processes including a discussion of the promise and current reality of additive manufacturing as a potentially revolutionary method of producing Ti alloy components.

The real time aggregation of social media data can serve as a starting point for designing strategic messages for health campaigns and establishing an effective communication system during this outbreak.

This article looks at hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) which are potent greenhouse gases that are potential substitutes for ozone depleting substances. The Kigali amendment lists 17 HFCs that are currently in commercial use to be regulated under the Montreal Protocol. Future commercial applications may explore the use of other HFCs, most of which currently lack an evaluation of their climate metrics. In this work, atmospheric lifetimes, radiative efficiencies (REs), global warming potentials (GWPs), and global temperature change potentials (GTPs) for all saturated HFCs with fewer than 5 carbon atoms are estimated to help guide future usage and policy decisions.

This article presents a comparative study of water indices and image classification algorithms for mapping inland water bodies using Landsat imagery through obtaining 24 high-resolution (≤5 m) and cloud-free images archived in Google Earth with the same (or ±1 day) acquisition dates as the Landsat-8 OLI images over 24 selected lakes across the globe, and developing a method to generate the alternate ground truth data from the Google Earth images for properly evaluating the Landsat image classification results.
