This article reports a dramatic increase in the grain boundary strengthening or Hall-Petch coefficient, K, by systematically investigating the effect of Al addition on tensile yield strength in CoFeNi and CoCrFeNi high entropy alloys (HEAs) or complex concentrated alloys (CCAs). Such a trend is attributed to the ordering mediated nano-clustering in Al containing HEA/CCAs.

This article employs nighttime light (NTL) information as a proxy indicator of gross domestic product(GDP), and a future land use simulation model (FLUS) to simulate the land use patterns in Guangzhou from 2015 to 2018 and 2018 to 2035 by incorporating planning policies. This study demonstrates that NTL is a suitable and feasible proxy indicator of GDP for the land use simulations, providing a scientific basis for the development of urban planning and construction policy.

Article describes how detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) is a well-established method to evaluate scaling indices of time series, which categorize the dynamics of complex systems. The authors propose treating each reaction time as a duration time that changes the representation from operational (trial number) time n to event (temporal) time t, or X(t).

Cataloging not only facilitates discovery but also provides information needed to track usage, create programming, generate recommendations, and support collection development. Presentation from librarians at the UNT Libraries share some of the EDI initiatives taking place in the UNT Libraries stemming from a multi-level climate survey, how the libraries as a whole is trying to be a better ally, and how we can help other departments with their EDI initiatives. It was presented at the 2022 UNT Equity & Diversity Conference held on March 23, 2022.

This article presents a study with the purpose to deliver a Notch Intracellular Domain (NICD)-encoded plasmid via poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles and to investigate the toxic environmental side effects for an in vivo experiment. This research demonstrates that PLGA nanoparticle-mediated target delivery to upregulate Notch related genes can be a potential therapeutic approach with minimum toxic effects.

Article reporting a nanofluidic membrane based on an ionic covalent organic framework (COF) that is capable of intelligently monitoring temperature variations and expressing it in the form of continuous potential differences. This article pioneers a way to explore COFs for mimicking the sophisticated signaling system observed in the nature.

Article highlights the importance of pectin in cell wall integrity and the value of lignin modification as a tool to interrogate the informational content of plant cell walls.

Article studying thrombocyte function and development in adult zebrafish. The authors performed single-cell RNA sequencing of the young and mature zebrafish thrombocytes and compared the two datasets for young and mature thrombocyte transcripts.

Article asserts that anemia in pregnancy is a common condition, especially in low-income countries, but a possible association between maternal anemia and childhood cancer has not been widely studied. In a separate analysis within the years available (births 1995–2014), the authors examined cancer risks among mothers taking prescribed vitamin supplements, using data from the National Prescription Register.

Article describes how processes including hot compression, cold compression and subsequent annealing on the structures and properties are investigated and compared. They found that applying pressure up to 10 GPa at the glass transition temperature led to permanent densifications and a dramatic increase of elastic moduli by 90%, while thermal annealing reversed the increase and applying pressure at ambient temperature did not increase the modulus.
