A Bayesian Rate Ratio Effect Size to Quantify Intervention Effects for Count Data in Single Case Experimental Research

This article formulates a within-subject Bayesian rate ratio effect size (BRR) for autocorrelated count data that would obviate the need for small sample corrections. The authors illustrate this within-subject effect size using real data for an ABAB design and provide codes for practitioners who may want to compute BRR.

Identifying Challenges for Information Organization in Language Archives: Preliminary Findings

Conference paper elucidates the issues facing language archive managers and users through two steps: content analysis of information organization in language archives, and semi-structured interviews with language archive managers and users. Primary challenges identified include lacking institutional support and a range of factors which impact authority control in language archives. This version is the author's accepted manuscript.

A New Cable-Less Seismograph with Functions of Real-Time Data Transmitting and High-Precision Differential Self-Positioning (open access)

A New Cable-Less Seismograph with Functions of Real-Time Data Transmitting and High-Precision Differential Self-Positioning

This article developed a new cable-less seismograph system, which can transmit seismic data in real-time and automatically perform high-precision differential self-positioning. Combining the ZigBee technology with the high-precision differential positioning module, this new seismograph system utilized the wireless personal area network (WPAN) and real-time kinematic (RTK) technologies to improve its on-site performances and to make the field quality control (QC) and self-positioning possible. With the advantages of low-cost, good scalability, and good compatibility, the proposed new cable-less seismograph system can improve the field working efficiency and data processing capability. It has potential applications in noise seismology and mobile seismic monitoring.

A New Multiteam System (MTS) Effectiveness Model

The article focuses on a systematic review of current team effectiveness frameworks and models. A narrative-based method for theorizing was utilized to develop a new MTS team effectiveness framework. This research contributes to the MTS literature by providing a new formula for team effectiveness at both the team level (team effectiveness formula) and the MTS level (MTS team effectiveness formula).

People of Color, People of Faith: The Effect of Social Capital and Religion on the Political Participation of Marginalized Communities

Article exploring how religion, social capital, and nativity intersect in the political mobilization of racial minorities. Collaborative Multiracial Post-Election Survey (CMPS) 2016 data is used to examine the connection between social capital, religion, and political behavior in a novel attempt to systematically identify the unique role of churches in the mobilization of racial minority communities.

RNaseH-mediated simultaneous piggyback knockdown of multiple genes in adult zebrafish (open access)

RNaseH-mediated simultaneous piggyback knockdown of multiple genes in adult zebrafish

This article tests if it is possible to piggyback more than one antisense deoxyoligonucleotide (dO) with one vivo morpholino (VMO). The authors previously developed a piggyback knockdown method that was used to knockdown genes in adult zebrafish. In this article, the authors develop a method to knockdown three genes at one time, and by increasing the concentration of VMO by twofold, could knockdown six genes simultaneously. These multiple gene knockdowns will not only increase the efficiency of the method in whole genome-wide knockdowns but will also be useful to study multifactorial disorders.

A Signature Assignment Puts Vegetables on the Line

This is an unpublished manuscript that delves into the use of Signature Assignments (SAs) which are real-world applications that embed curriculum learning objectives in routine classwork and facilitate assessment of outcomes across classes and disciplines. SAs tied to key learning objectives demonstrate student growth and reveal areas where instructional improvement might be needed. Additionally, SAs tied to curriculum objectives contribute to program and university understanding of teaching strategies that promote student success.
