ARKENSTONE â I. A novel method for robustly capturing high specific energy outflows in cosmological simulations
Article describes how ARKENSTONE is a new model for multiphase, stellar feedback-driven galactic winds designed for inclusion in coarse resolution cosmological simulations. In this first paper of a series, the authors describe the features that allow ARKENSTONE to properly treat high specific energy wind components and demonstrate them using idealized non-cosmological simulations of a galaxy with a realistic circumgalactic medium (CGM) using the AREPO code.

Bayesian Time-Series Models in Single Case Experimental Designs: A Tutorial for Trauma Researchers
Article discusses the utility of SCED data for trauma research, provides recommendations for addressing challenges specific to SCED approaches, and introduces a tutorial for two Bayesian modelsâthe Bayesian interrupted time-series (BITS) model and the Bayesian unknown change-point (BUCP) modelâthat can be used to analyze the typically small sample, autocorrelated, SCED data.

Calculation of the Vapour Pressure of Organic Molecules by Means of a Group-Additivity Method and Their Resultant Gibbs Free Energy and Entropy of Vaporization at 298.15 K
Article presenting the calculation of the vapour pressure of organic molecules at 298.15 K using a commonly applicable computer algorithm based on the group-additivity method. The standard entropy of vaporization ÎS°vap has been determined and compared with experimental data of 1129 molecules, exhibiting excellent conformance with a correlation coefficient R2 of 0.9598, a standard error Ï of 8.14 J/mol/K and a medium absolute deviation of 4.68%.

Childhood Asthma and Smoking: Moderating Effect of Preterm Status and Birth Weight
Article exploring the association between second-hand smoke exposure, asthma, and asthma severity in children ages 6-17 as well as the effect of birth weight and prematurity (BWP) on parental smoking and asthma. Results indicate that focused asthma interventions in children should inquire about BWP status as well as parental smoking and household smoke exposure to reduce asthma morbidity and mortality.

Correlating work hardening with co-activation of stacking fault strengthening and transformation in a high entropy alloy using in-situ neutron diffraction
Article using in-situ neutron diffraction to correlate SF strengthening to work hardening behavior in a low SFE Fe40Mn20Cr15Co20Si5 (at%) high entropy alloy, SFE ~ 6.31 mJ mâ2. Cooperative activation of multiple mechanisms was indicated by increases in SF strengthening and Îł-f.c.c. â Δ-h.c.p. transformation leading to a simultaneous increase in strength and ductility. The present study demonstrates the application of in-situ, neutron or X-ray, diffraction techniques to correlating SF strengthening to work hardening.

Ethnicity as a Moderator Between Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Suicidality in a Clinical Sample
Poster discussing the role of ethnicity in the relationship between posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicidality. Research indicates an increased risk of suicide and suicidal behavior among individuals with PTSD. Latinx groups, in particular, have lower rates of suicide injury death in comparison to non-Latinx groups. These findings do not explain increased suicidality in non-Latinx clients, but is congruent with the Latinx health paradox, the contradictory finding of better health outcomes for Latinx despite known additional disadvantages.

Gender Differences in Anxiety Symptoms
Poster examining if gender differences exist for two common anxiety symptom categories: mood (e.g. nervousness) and somatic (e.g. sweating). A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was conducted to examine gender differences in anxiety symptomology and yielded no significant differences in anxiety severity based on gender. A pattern was present of more somatic symptoms than mood symptoms for both males and females, and males reported lower rates of anxiety symptomology combined when compared to women.

A Highly Contiguous and Annotated Genome Assembly of the Lesser Prairie-Chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus)
Article asserts that the Lesser Prairie-Chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus; LEPC) is an iconic North American prairie grouse, renowned for ornate and spectacular breeding season displays, a species that has been declining in population across much of its historical range, with corresponding precipitous declines in contemporary population abundance, largely due to climatic and anthropogenic factors. The authors describe an annotated reference genome that was generated from a LEPC sample collected from the southern DPS.
