Function of Conserved Residues of Human Glutathione Synthetase: Implications for the ATP-Grasp Enzymes (open access)

Function of Conserved Residues of Human Glutathione Synthetase: Implications for the ATP-Grasp Enzymes

Article examining the mechanism of Glutathione synthetase, an enzyme that belongs to the glutathione synthetase ATP-binding domain-like superfamily. A variety of structural alignment methods were applied and four highly conserved residues of human glutathione synthetase (Glu-144, Asn-146, Lys-305, and Lys-364) were identified in the binding site. The function of these was studied by experimental and computational site-directed mutagenesis.

DFW International Airport's Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises Program: Economic and Fiscal Impacts

This paper discusses economic activities associated with the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport. DFW International Airport is one of the largest generators of economic activity in the Metroplex with operations creating more than $14 billion in economic activity and supporting 269,000 jobs in the region. This analysis, by the University of North Texas Center for Economic Development and Research, focuses on the economic activity generated through the Airport's commitment to ensuring its suppliers reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the DFW Metroplex.

The Economic and Fiscal Impacts of the Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine

This report discusses the economic and fiscal impacts of Baylor Regional Medical Center Grapevine. This report, by the University of North Texas Center for Economic Development and Research, outlines the regional economic and fiscal impacts from Baylor-Grapevine's construction spending and ongoing operations. Estimates of the economic impacts are calculated using the DFW model of the IMPLAN impact modeling system developed by the Minnesota IMPLAN Group. This model, which is well-regarded by academic and professional researchers, provides reasonable and conservative estimates of direct, indirect, and induced impacts.

Z39.50 Interoperability Testing Framework for Online Library Catalogs Using Radioactive MARC Records

This document discusses a Z39.50 Interoperability Testing framework. In a first phase of the Z39.50 Interoperability Testbed, a large dataset of MARC records was used. In this work, the authors are exploring how a set of special, diagnostic MARC records can be developed and used to identify interoperability problems between a Z39.50 client and a Z39.50 server providing access to a database of bibliographic records supporting the search and retrieval functions of an online library catalog. The authors refer to these special, diagnostic records as radioactive MARC records. It discusses the various components and identifies the tasks related to developing and implementing the components.
