Synthesis of uniform single layer tungsten disulfides for tunable photoluminescence (open access)

Synthesis of uniform single layer tungsten disulfides for tunable photoluminescence

This article explores single-layer tungsten disulfides (WSâ‚‚) because of their unique tunable bandgap. The authors report the scalable synthesis of uniform single-layer WS2 film by a two-step chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method followed by a laser thinning process.

Sodium Hydroxide-Free Soy Protein Isolate-Based Films Crosslinked by Pentaerythritol Glycidyl Ether

This article examines the chemical structures of biodegradable films created out of soy protein isolate (SPI), sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) and pentaerythritol glycidyl ether (PEGE). The thermal stabilities of the films were also examined by means of the thermo-gravimetric analysis.

Laser printed amorphous magnesium alloy: Microstructure, mechanical properties, and degradation behavior (open access)

Laser printed amorphous magnesium alloy: Microstructure, mechanical properties, and degradation behavior

Article describes how, amorphous magnesium alloy, especially Mg-Zn-Ca series, has been receiving continuous attention in biomedical field, because of its favorable corrosion resistance, suitable modulus and biocompatibility. In this work, laser powder bed fusing with unique characteristics of rapid solidification and layer-by-layer fashion was used to fabricate bulk Mg-Zn-Ca and Mg-Zn-Ca-Y amorphous parts.
