Using Machine Learning to Predict Genes Underlying Differentiation of Multipartite and Unipartite Traits in Bacteria
Article describes how, since the discovery of the second chromosome in the Rhodobacter spaeroides 2.4.1 in 1989 and the revelation of gene sequences, multipartite genomes have been reported in over three hundred bacterial species under nine different phyla. In this study, the authors have attempted to leverage machine learning as a means to identify the genetic factors that underlie the differentiation of bacteria with multipartite and unipartite genomes.

Effects of covalency on the p-shell photoemission of transition metals: MnO
This article discusses the effects of covalency on the p-shell photoemission of transition metals. The treatment of covalency has not been included previously in ab initio theoretical studies of the 2p-shell XPS of transition-metal complexes. In this work, covalent interactions between the metal and ligands are treated on an equal footing with spin-orbit splittings.

The Enigmatic Protein Kinase C-eta
The purpose of this review article is to discuss how PKCη regulates various cellular processes that may contribute to its contrasting roles in cancer. Protein kinase C-eta (PKCη) is a unique member of the PKC family since its regulation is distinct from other PKC isozymes. PKCη was shown to regulate cell proliferation, differentiation and cell death.

Organization of knowledge and information in digital archives of language materials
This article reports the first empirical investigation of various dimensions of organization and representation of recorded knowledge and information in language archives. The study used a combination of semi-structured interviews and content analysis. Results demonstrate that, while some of the phenomena related to organization of information in language archives are specific to these types of archives, others are more typical and have been addressed by libraries in past research and practice.

Ideal plasticity and shape memory of nanolamellar high-entropy alloys
Article describes how understanding the relationship among elemental compositions, nanolamellar microstructures, and mechanical properties enables the rational design of high-entropy alloys (HEAs). In this article the authors construct nanolamellar Alx-CoCuFeNi HEAs with alternating high- and low-Al concentration layers and explore their mechanical properties using a combination of molecular dynamic simulation and density functional theory calculation.

Gemini Near Infrared Spectrograph–Distant Quasar Survey: Prescriptions for Calibrating UV-based Estimates of Supermassive Black Hole Masses in High-redshift Quasars
Article describes how the most reliable single-epoch supermassive black hole mass (MBH) estimates in quasars are obtained by using the velocity widths of low-ionization emission lines, typically the Hβλ4861 line. The authors find that utilizing both emission lines, where available, reduces the scatter of UV-based MBH estimates by ∼15% when compared to previous studies.
