Light–matter interactions in two-dimensional layered tungsten diselenide for gauging evolution of phonon dynamics (open access)

Light–matter interactions in two-dimensional layered tungsten diselenide for gauging evolution of phonon dynamics

Article exploring phonon dynamics in mechanically exfoliated two-dimensional WSe₂ using temperature-dependent and laser-power-dependent Raman and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The work reported sheds fundamental insights into the evolution of phonon dynamics in WSe₂ and should help pave the way for designing high-performance electronic, optoelectronic and thermoelectric devices in the future.

Massive MIMO Systems for 5G and beyond Networks—Overview, Recent Trends, Challenges, and Future Research Direction (open access)

Massive MIMO Systems for 5G and beyond Networks—Overview, Recent Trends, Challenges, and Future Research Direction

This article presents a comprehensive overview of the key enabling technologies required for 5G and 6G networks, highlighting the massive MIMO systems. The authors discuss the fundamental challenges related to pilot contamination, channel estimation, precoding, user scheduling, energy efficiency, and signal detection in massive MIMO systems and discuss state-of-the-art mitigation techniques. Recent trends such as terahertz communication, ultra massive MIMO (UM-MIMO), visible light communication (VLC), machine learning, and deep learning for massive MIMO systems are outlined. Finally, future research for massive MIMO systems for 5G and beyond is discussed.

Longitudinal Effects of Motivation and Physical Activity on Depressive Symptoms among College Students (open access)

Longitudinal Effects of Motivation and Physical Activity on Depressive Symptoms among College Students

This article is guided by Lubans et al.'s conceptual framework and examines the longitudinal relationships of physical activity (PA) motivation with leisure-time PA and depressive symptoms among college students over one academic year. The findings suggest sex-specified motivational intervention strategies and PA promotion programs/opportunities are needed to reduce depression symptoms among college students over time.
