Conference paper for an exploratory study that examined student-created metadata for physical non-text resources. The authors applied in-depth qualitative and quantitative content analysis to the Dublin Core (DCTERMS) metadata created by the graduate students in two sections of an introductory digital library metadata course. Finding of comparative analysis for the asynchronous course section and the section with synchronous class meetings are also presented. Article discusses authors' findings that through genetic screening for suppressors of defense gene induction in the low lignin ccr1-3 mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana, we found that loss of function of the receptor-like kinase FERONIA, although not restoring growth, affected cell wall remodeling and blocked release of elicitor-active pectic polysaccharides as a result of the ccr1-3 mutation. They determine that engineering plant cell walls will require development of ways to bypass endogenous pectin signaling pathways.

Article describes how in digital image processing and steganography, images are often described using edges and local binary pattern (LBP) codes. The authors state that by combining these two properties, a novel hybrid image steganography method of secret embedding is proposed in this paper.

Presentation focusing on a project-based experience to analyze workflows within technical services that influenced workload leveling and understanding of work across technical services at the UNT Libraries. It was presented at the CORE Interest Group Week held March 6-10, 2023.
