Free-Text Collection-Level Metadata in Large-Scale Digital Libraries: A Comparative Content Analysis [Presentation]

Automating the Authority Control Process

Video Message Congratulating LEAP-II Graduating Students
On May 4, 2018, a recognition ceremony was held for the LEAP (Library Education for the U.S. Affiliated Pacific) II scholars, who earned their Master's in Library Science degree from UNT. Video messages were sent to the students by their UNT professors who taught them at the Institutes in Hawaii. This short video recording is from Dr. Daniel Alemneh, congratulating the LAEP-II students who now join the graduates from the LEAP I cohort as the only indigenous librarians in the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands.

Anti-racist Pedagogy in Art Education: K-12/Higher Education

Joined by distinguished guest panelists, Joni Boyd Acuff, Ph.D., and James Haywood Rolling Jr., Ed.D., this first installment of the 2044 series introduces Afrofuturism and the ways that it can help reimagine art discourses, laying the groundwork for establishing Afrofuturism as a framework for conceptualizing and enacting anti-racist art education practice. In addition to sharing their work and how it relates to Afrofuturism and futurist thinking, the panelists discuss how recognizing Black and Brown artists and advocating for racial literacy is essential to creating and maintaining a racial consciousness practice in K-12 education.

GPS: Rocket
This video discusses research on developing a rocket recovery system with sensor networks and wireless communication. The research team project was to develop a GPS/GSM based tracking system for the recovery of high power model rockets. This research is part of Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) in Sensor Education, a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded grant project.
