This volume consists largely of excerpts from operatic works, particularly by Gaetano Donizetti, Saverio Mercadante, Gioacchino Rossini, and Giuseppe Verdi. Most works were published in Paris, with a few published in Mayence (present-day Mainz), Vienna, and Boston.
