From foreword: Evaluation of the experimental data on the light isotopes, hydrogen through beryllium, was initiated by LASL in mid-1963. Since the data compilations available were completely inadequate for the task at hand, the tedious program of compiling and plotting was undertaken. As the work progressed an attempt was made to eliminate many of the obvious errors and inconsistencies found in the literature and existing compilations.

Radiochemically determined mass-yield curves are given for the fission of U235 and U236 by 14.7-Mev neutrons.

Abstract: "Measurements have been made of the cross sections for the reactions Id-6(n, dn)He-4 and Li-7(n, tn)He-4 over an incident neutron energy range of 5 - 14 MeV. The energy and angular distributions of all reaction products were determined."

Several of the plutonium assay methods were reexamined as part of a continuing effort to make improvements in these frequently used analyses. This investigation included a study of the controlled-potential coulometric, amperometric, potentiometric, and photometric titration methods and their applications to assays of delta-stabilized and alpha plutonium metal.

Abstract: "The leakage neutron spectrum of a U²³³ spherical critical assembly (Jezebel) has been measured using nuclear emulsions as radiator and detector. The spectrum obtained is compared with similar measurements on the U-235 and Pu-239 analogues of Jezebel U²³³; it is found to agree closely with that of the Pu-239 assembly and to be harder than that of the U-235 assembly. All three spectra are compared with theoretical spectra obtained from a numerical approximation to the neutron transport equation."

Abstract: "The calculation of the efficiency of the Los Alamos hydrogen bubble chamber for detection of neutrons in the energy range 5 to 35 MeV has been done using a "Monte Carlo" technique. The detection efficiency is calculated as a function of energy of the neutron and angle of the proton recoil."

This report analyzes two samples of Nevada alluvium to measure density and analyze the variety of particles in both samples.

"This report is written as a supplement to LAMS 2539. It is hoped that one will be able to read LAMS 2539, with emphasis on the fourth part (Memorandum N-4-79OU by 0. Farmer), with this memorandum to bridge the gaps and understand more about the model used and what the KIB Program can be used for. The system is defined by subsystems or subprograms: Thrust System, Heat Exchanger, Neutron Dynamics, Rod Actuator Dynamics, and Thermocouple Dynamics. The original Kiwi-B Flow System is included in the first part of LAMS 2539. This has been replaced by the newer system which includes a turbo-pump (per R, Bohl & E. Wheatley). This system will not be included here. Recommendations are made for improvement and more work in certain areas."

From abstract: "Detailed calculations were undertaken in an attempt to explain some post-shot observations of the underground Bernalillo shot. A procedure was developed to calculate with a one-space dimensional code both the flow of energy up and down the hole and the energy loss into the walls of the hole."
