From introduction and summary: This report is the latest in a series of investment cost studies performed for the AEC covering detailed cost and unit quantities.

This document describes a serial highway for interconnecting CAMAC crates and a system controller. The serial highway uses either a bit-serial or a byte-serial mode of transferring data and control information.

The U. S. Atomic Energy Commission conducted an airborne radioactivity survey of the Red River region of Texas and Oklahoma beginning in December 1955 and ending in May 1956. All or parts of Archer, Clay, and Montague Counties in northern Texas and Carter, Cotton, Jefferson, and Stephens Counties in southern Oklahoma were surveyed. Particular attention was paid to those areas where exposures are found of red beds of the Permian Wichita Group. Field examinations were conducted of anomalies discovered by airborne reconnaissance as well as those reported by private individuals. Forty localities were examined, the majority in sandstones, siltstones, or conglomerates. Uranium and copper minerals were identified at several localities. Ferruginous staining, bleaching of the sandstone color, calcium carbonate cement, and carbonized plant remains are common to the deposits

From introduction: The purpose of this report is to supplement, in a ore detailed form, data of stage and discharge published in the annual surface-water records of the U.S. Geological Survey. This report includes: description of the flood, information on flood damage, and flood-frequency data.

Report presenting a diagrammatic method for solving angular momentum recoupling problems. It is shown that a few graphical elements with a set of rules for their use lead to the solution of many types of recoupling problems in an intuitive and systematic way. Several examples are given together with exercises to develop the reader's facility with the method.

From introduction: The purpose of this report is to show how hydrology and geology are applied in evaluating landfill sites in west-central Florida, and to illustrate a land disposal method of handling solid waste.

This report documents the results of a site investigation conducted to support free-field ground shock calculations and field operations for Project MIDDLE GUST, Events I, II, and III. The site is characterized by a 6- to 9-ft-thick section of sandy clay (CL) and clayey sand (SC) overburden overlying almost 500 ft of clay shale of the Pierre Formation which overlies older sedimentary rocks. A perched groundwater table in the overburden, approximately 4 ft below the ground surface, is fed by water from the Colorado Canal, which borders the site on three sides.

From Abstract: "This compilation abstracts original experimental data on the mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of six commercially available polymers. The data are also summarized and a brief description of each polymer is included."

Report discussing the glass forming regions in six ternary oxide systems containing BaO, Si02, and a third oxide. The properties of the resulting glasses were measured and the results reported. The data on refractive indices, dispersions, and specific volumes were evaluated by computer methods in an attempt to identify "substructures" containing the cations present in the glasses.

From Abstract: "An extensive compilation is given of the measured values of thermal conductivity for nearly all solid materials from room temperature down to 0.02 kelvin. Experimental methods and physical phenomena are discussed in the text and coded in the tables for references for which curves are shown."

Report issued by the Bureau of Standards over "the basic theory and analytical methods used in the development of accurate microwave measurement methods and standards" (p. x). These methods are presented and discussed. This report includes tables, illustrations, and photographs.

From Abstract: "The results showed that a variable strain distribution existed in the alloy sheet at the time it was ready for insertion into a transformer core. Small applied comprehensive and tensile loads tended to rearrange this variable strain distribution but not appreciably alter the total stored elastic energy."

From introduction: This study is limited to four U.S. Geological Survey stream-flow stations located in Idaho (figure 1). The 6 to 22 years of stations were assembled and evaluated through use of computer techniques for data plotting and regression analysis developed by Steele (1972). Objectives of this evaluation were were (1) to show which parameters were highly correlative with the levels of specific conductance and(or) discharge and (2) to see if any changes in overall chemical character of the stream had occurred over the long term.

The survey covers PVT, thermodynamic, thermal, transport, electrical radiative and mechanical properties.

Abstracts: The largest ground-water supplies from the 150 to 450-foot thick carbonate-rock aquifer in southwest Ohio are available in a 2,800 square-mile area on the crest and eastern flank of the Cincinnati arch. Well production in the high-yield area is mainly from the Newburg zone, a permeable stratum in the lower part of the Bass Island group. A structure contour map on the top of the Lockport Dolomite shows that the Newburg zone conforms to the configuration of the Cincinnati arch. The chemical quality of the water in the consolidated-rock aquifers is intimately related to the regional flow system, and undergoes a progressive change from a calcium bicarbonate-type in recharge areas to a calcium sulfate-type in areas of natural discharge.

The purpose of this report is to present the results of a condition survey performed at Carswell Air Force Base (CAFB), Texas, during 16-19 December 1972. The two major areas of interest considered in this survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements and the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield.

The three major areas of interest considered in this condition survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements, the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield, and any evidence of detrimental effects of frost action to the pavement facilities" (p. 1).

"The purpose of this report is to present the results of a condition survey performed at Grand Forks Air Force Base (GFAFB), North Dakota, during 18-22 April 1972. The three major areas of interest considered in this condition survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements, the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield, and any detrimental effects of frost action to the pavement facilities" (p. 1).

"The purpose of this report is to present the results of an inspection performed at Laguna Army Airfield (LAAF), Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, during December 1972. The inspection was limited to visual observations, and no tests were conducted on any of the pavement facilities. A layout of the airfield is shown in plate 1" (p. 1).

The frost action inspection was performed during 7-8 June 1972. The three major areas of interest considered in this condition survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements, the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield, and any detrimental effects of frost action to the pavement facilities" (p. 1).
