This document is a message to Texas legislature from Governor J. S. Hogg. The document was a call to action concerning the matters of: railroad bonds and stocks, municipal indebtedness, land corporations, the railway commission, land and county boundaries, state banks, public education, mechanics' liens, convict labor, indigent ex-confederates, taxation, criminal laws, deadly weapons, lotteries, injunctions, stock quarantine, charities, board of pardon advisers, and the overall condition of the state of Texas.

This book gives an overview of each of the six counties including history, important statistics and facts, and biographies of central figures. According to the title page, it contains "a History of this Important Section of the Great State of Texas, from the Earliest Period of its Occupancy to the Present Time, together with Glimpses of its Prospects; also Biographical Mention of Many of the Pioneers and Prominent Citizens of the Present Time, and Full-page Portraits of the most Eminent Men of this Section."

Ledger kept by Martin O'Connor for a school assignment, detailing various financial transactions. A note written on the inside cover says "Martin O'Connor, St. Edward's College, Austin, Texas."

Text of laws in the city of Dallas, Texas, including standing rules, revised civil and criminal ordinances, and revised city ordinances. Most of the ordinances were enacted in 1889 with amendments in 1891 and 1893. Index to civil ordinances starts after page 296.

General directory for Austin, Texas includes address listings for businesses and individuals as well as advertisements from local businesses. According to the title page, the directory contains "the present state, county and city governments, and a complete list of all county officials, post offices and money order offices in Texas; also an index of societies, associations, churches, corporations, educational institutes, the full name and address of all residents, their occupations or pursuits, and a Complete Classified Business Directory, also A Valuable Steet and Avenue Guide." The Table of Contents starts on page 6; the Index to Advertisements is on page 8.

Ledger containing financial records of John S. Heard documenting expenses, deposits, and investments, organized by various fund locations and sellers. There is a card for Royal Insurance Company included with the ledger.

Photograph of the Pat Cleburne United Confederate Veterans, mostly likely in front of the Johnson County Courthouse. There are forty-five people in the photo and they are labeled with numbers which correspond the the list at the bottom of the photo. The identifying information includes each person's name and where they served in the Civil War. Several of the men are using crutches and are amputees, and most of the men are wearing suits.

This prospectus outlines the ideals and intentions of the Colorado Lake Chautauqua Association to educate the people of the city and provide better public services.
