It was founded in 1848, and is one of the oldest educational institutions for girls in the country. There are four massive buildings, surrounded by about four acres of beautiful land, located on an elevation of 1,450 feet above the sea level, and midway between the picturesque James and Shenandoah Rivers." The letter reads, "We reached here 7 this a. m. Write me soon with love, Sig." The postcard is addressed to "Miss Mamie McFaddin 1141 3rd Ave Huntington, W. Va."
