The front of the postcard features a photograph of a small, sloped mountain covered with trees at the top and base of the mountain, and dotted with trees around the middle. At the base of the largest part of the slope are three buildings - two barns and one two-story house with columns.

Membership card for Elk Lodge belonging to John H. Sutherlin. It reads: "No. 502. Durango, Colo., Lodge No. 507, B. P. O. Elks. This is to Certify that Bro. John H. Sutherlin has paid dues to Oct. 1st, 1909 and at the date of issuing this card was in good standing in said lodge. Dated 7 day of June 1909."
