Postcard from E. H. to Miss Annie Hein. The writer of the postcard mentions something about a picnic. The front of the postcard features a photograph of the town, and some of the small farms surrounding the town, taken from a great distance. There are large trees on the right front side of the town, and in the background, small bluffs are visible on the horizon. There is a stretch of open, grassy land in front of a fence that runs through the middle-ground.

[Beaumont City Hall]

Postcard of Beaumont City Hall on Main Street between Gilbert and College streets. Two men can be seen standing on the right bottom of the picture. This building was built in 1909 to serve as a cooperative market by the City of Beaumont, but was used as a City Hall and Jail from about 1910 until 1926. Later in the 1920s it was used as a market and at one time went by the name of the Nancy Tevis Market. Printed on the top left of the postcard is "City Hall, Beaumont, Texas.--19." Printed on the back of the postcard is the following information regarding its creation: "E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee" and "27097N." The card is addressed to Mrs. C S Browne (?) 111 Long St, West Roxbury, Mass.

[Southern Pacific railroad depot]

Postcard of of the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot in Beaumont, California, with thirteen men and boys posed for the photographer. At least five of them are holding bicycles. Other men can be seen in the background. A train with steam and tracks are visible on the right side of the postcard. The depot is prominent on the left side of the postcard with a sign that reads "To San Francisco 562 7/10 M., B[ea]umont, [Elevation 2556 Feet, To New Orleans 1925 4/10 M" showing the mileage from Beaumont, California, to other prominent cities. There is also a sign on the right side of the building that reads, "...Express." In the far background are mountains. Written on the bottom of the postcard is "S.P. Depot Beaumont." It should be noted that Beaumont, California, and Beaumont, Texas, are sometimes mistaken for one another. Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "How are you I am fine Come where oranges grow, Hudson Hall" The card is addressed to Miss Lula Wheeler Melrose, Tex.

The Beaumont Country Club was formed in 1906 on a hill overlooking the Neches River on a hundred acres of land. Printed at the top left of the postcard is "Country Club House, BEAUMONT, Texas." Printed on the back of the postcard is the following information related to the postcard's creation: "Made in Germany. D.J. Hicks, Importer and Publisher, Beaumont, Texas" and "G.A.P.C.M. Co., N.Y." Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "Dear Julia - This is Sunday and we are busy as ever. I will write a letter tomorrow Hoping this will find you well and happy Mamma." The card is addressed to Mrs. Julia Stafford, Meridian Mississippi (Meridian Norman's College).
