The mother is wearing a dark dress with a high neck and a decorative collar; the father is wearing a three piece suit and has a mustache. Their four children are arranged between them, but one daughter is sitting in the same seat as her mother. They are all wearing dark clothing. The sons are wearing dark shirts with wide tie collars. The daughters are both wearing dresses with collars and buttons down the front. The youngest daughter is holding an open book in her lap. At the bottom right of the image, an embossed stamp reads, "Atelier Fru Jepsen & Søng, Svendborg." This is a bound volume of newspapers published primarily in German, although there is significant English-language content as well. The publication was the official newsletter of the Katholischen Staats-Verbands (Catholic State Association of Texas) and contains many articles about association business and events, editorials, and letters to the editor. The publication contains information about the association's history and bylaws as well as yearly listings of association officers.

Photograph of the Isaacson Gin Company, a cotton gin in El Campo, Texas, taken from a high angle and from a distance, capturing the entire structure and the surrounding homes that surround it. Several horse-drawn wagons are moving in a procession in an arc formation from the south-facing wall of the gin to the north-facing one. Groups of men can be seen directing them. Others are seen on the ground and on platforms near the cotton bales. The gin itself is a large two-story structure with gable roofs and a large pole extending from the direction of the smaller roofs. All the buildings in the background within the vicinity of the gin seem to be homes. They are built along the street that runs parallel to the gin's east-facing wall. The photograph has been pasted on a stiff mat with a decorative linear embossing that runs the perimeter of the image.

The yard just outside the company is teeming with horse-drawn or animal-drawn wagons. Each wagon is filled with cotton; some of them are covered with a tarp. Postcard of a large group of United States army soldiers at a camp in Maryland, possibly Glen Bernie or Laurel. They are all in their military uniform, gathered in multiple rows. Behind them, a series of tall leafless trees can be seen, as well as a single-story structure in the very center at the top of a hill. There is printed text on the front that reads "47 Battalion 23rd Engineers, Glen Bernie, MD. Feb. 1918." There is a black arrow near the top of the image pointing at an individual, identified as Arnold G. Knock. This information is verified on the back of the postcard, on which Arnold himself, under the "correspondence" heading, wrote: "I am in this picture the arrow point is our my head Did you receive my letter Hoping to hear from you soon This is my address Arnold G. Knock, Laurel Maryland, Truck Co #10 23 Engrs. [sic]" He has addressed the postcard on the left and right to an Emilie Andersen at "El Campo, Texas. D. S. R. #55."

Photograph of Thomas Bos in a suit and tie. Handwriting around the photo notes that Bos was an early property owner in Port Arthur who was originally from Holland. The reverse of the photo has a handwritten note near the top stating that this was given to J. W. Carr. Writing near the bottom of the photo, to the right of a red photographer's seal, says that Bos purchased Port Arthur property for Dutch interests and that he was a client of Carr.

The girls have been identified, from left to right, as unknown, Esther Knudsen, Elna Petersen, Andrea Hansen, Emelia Andersen, Gertrude Strarup, and Christine Olsen. Three names have been provided for the boys but it cannot be stated with certainty to whom they apply. Black, rough patches of paper on the back of the postcard remain on each corner from wherever it was torn out of.
