Text of the campaign speech given by John J. Herrera on behalf of C. V. "Buster" Kern, who is running for Sheriff of Harris County.

Notarized affidavit regarding two tracts of land owned by Ernesto Jimenez Herrera. One lot is in the Houston Suburban Estates subdivision and the other two lots are in the City Gardens subdivision. Herrera does not claim any of these properties as his homestead. Instead he is leasing his business property at 124 Preston Avenue.

Christmas card sent out by the Pedersen family from Danevang, Texas. The front page of the card bears an image of the family - Gordon, Alice, and Pastor John - around a piano. Finally, Gordon, next to Alice on the left, has his hands behind his back and wears a collar shirt and dark, belted pants. The back of the card bears a second image. This time, of Gordon Pedersen resting his hands on a horizontal sign with the bold heading that reads, "DANEVANG." He wears a hat and is standing outdoors in a grassy area. The caption beneath this image reads: "Our best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Alice, Gordon & John Pedersen."

Cortez pledged to fight against segregation of Latino Americans in public schools. San Antonio was selected for the 1949 convention for the LULAC sessions.

Clipping from Dr. John J. Pendergrass' obituary, who passed on January 17, 1948. The text gives a biographical account of the doctor's education, family background, and retirement to Wharton county. It continues on the second page with anecdotes of his charity work. It ends with a small list of his surviving family, including his wife, two children, a sister, a brother, and five grandchildren.

Funeral program for Mrs. Alice Wicks Porter. The funeral was held Wednesday, January 7, 1948 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiated by R. S. Mosby. Funeral arrangements were made through Lewis Funeral Home and she was buried in U. B. F. Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Letter sent to Felix H. Morales from D. F. Prince in Washington, D. C. Prince advises Morales that if he is considering purchasing an existing station, he will be required to file another application. Prince provides Morales with information about the standard filing process. Prince also notes that many radio stations have difficulties making the same profits they saw during the war.

Letter from D. F. Prince to Felix H. Morales. Prince acknowledges Morales' August 21st letter in which Morales inquired about the cost of applying for an AM radio station in Houston. Prince provides an estimate for legal charges from $2500 to $3500 plus incidental expenses. Prince also provides an estimate for Mr. Barron, which would be between $10,000 to $12,000. Prince advises Morales of the risks of proceeding with the amended application and suggests he seek the assistance of John J. Herrera.
