Interview with Lois Lorraine Green Shaw and Evelyn Mills Shields who have been friends for 49 years and live on the same street. Lois Shaw moved to Kerrville with her husband. She attended nursing school and worked in the operating room at Sid Peterson Hospital for many years, and later as a geriatrics administrator at a care facility. She is active in her church, St. Paul Methodist, and has served on many community boards. She and her husband Charles (deceased) had seven children. Evelyn Shields graduated from Doyle High School, she worked as therapist at Kerrville State Hospital for 33 years. She enjoys cooking and is active in her church, Mount Olive Baptist. Interview with Wilma Dell Council Teague, a teacher from Kerrville, Texas. Teague discusses her family and her father's furniture store and lumberyard in Kerrville, her experience in the Tivy High School band, her teaching career, and her volunteer work.

Interview with Robert L. Zumwalt, former police officer, U.S. Customs worker, and bailiff from Kerrville. Zumwalt discusses his family, experience hunting and participating in archery tournaments, and career in law enforcement.

Interview with Joe Schmerber, who worked for and helped establish departments in Mooney Aircraft Company and Bridgestone Tires. The interview discusses his parents, early years as one of nine children, his work experience, education, interest in aviation, and family life.

Interview with James (Bud) Wright, an entomologist and inventor who has several patents. He received a PhD in Medical Entomology from Texas A&M in 1963 and worked in the field of printentomology. He specialized in neurohormonal mechanisms of metamorphosis and reproduction in economically damaging arthropods. He led the program that led to the eradication of the boll weevil. Married to Judy Wright, the two had a blended family of two sons, two daughters, and many grandchildren. The interview covers his family history, education and research, enjoyment of bass fishing, and ranching of cows and calves in retirement.

Interview with Raul Rafael "Rocky" Hernandez, Jr., a United States Army veteran and Austin restaurant owner from Kerrville. Rocky describes his memories growing up in Kerrville, work at the Huber Bakery, playing football at Tivy High School, being a Ranger in the United States Army, his accident, and starting restaurant with his wife.

Interview with Wayne Edward O'Bryant, who recalls his family history, growing up in Kerrville, Texas, and his career after inheriting his father's café and eventually owning an antique store in the same location.

Interview with Ronald Girard, a veteran of the United States Air Force and post office worker. Girard describes his experiences as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force, participating in experimental tests run by the CIA at Area 51 as a part of the 1129th Special Activity Squad, experience in the Vietnam War, and working as a mail carrier in Kerrville.

Interview with Joyce and Bob Barton. Joyce played stand-up string bass with the Poverty Playboys. She holds a Fine Arts degree and painted, particularly oils. Her work has been exhibited in Kerrville and numerous regional juried shows. She is married to Bob Barton, a lawyer, who served as Assistant County Attorney, County Attorney, District Attorney, and District Judge. He also taught at St. Mary's Law School and authored two books for law enforcement officers. The couple have three children, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Interview with Waynne Rogers, a rancher from Harper, TX near Kerrville. Rogers talks about family, his work ranching and shearing sheep and goats, his past education at Tivy High School and undergraduate metallurgical engineering degree, and different positions he held as an engineer.

Oral history with Tinka regarding the adoption of her son from Hunan Province. She speaks about her work as a volunteer orphanage worker in China, particularly her work with children with impairments or disabilities, and her NGO's efforts to build support systems for children with disabilities. She speaks about how she adopted her son, who has cerebral palsy and a mental disability, and the transition for him from China to Switzerland.

Interview of Caroline Heath's parents conducted by Caroline Heath (age 10), regarding her adoption of from the Yuangchun SWI in Guangdong Province, China. Caroline interviews her parents, asking them why they wanted to adopt her, why her mother has maintained their Chinese adoption group, what were their experiences in China, and what being a parent is like.

Interview with Jo Ann "Josie" Lochte Redden, Montessori educator and stained glass artist, discussing her German extended family, her upbringing in Kerrville, Texas, life in New York, and travel with her husband John throughout Texas and western United States to photograph, catalogue, and reproduce Native American pictographs, or rock paintings.

Interview with Louis Romero Jr., who carried on the Mexican food business and Tortilla Factory started by his grandmother, Delphina Torres, in Kerrville. The interview discusses his family history, upbringing, the development of Torres, a Mexican restaurant, his grandmother's sending canned tamales to World War II troops, military service, and family. Interview with Karen and Clark Klein. Karen attended Notre Dame Catholic School in Kerrville and graduated from Tivy High School before completed a course at Durham Business College. She worked at Wool and Mohair Warehouse in Ingram before marrying Clark in 1962. Clark also attended Notre Dame School and Tivy where the couple met. He served in the Army for three years, worked briefly the postal services, and enlisted again in the National Guard. He served until 1982 and achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major. The couple had three children and lived in San Antonio, Austin for ten years, before moving back to Kerrville.

Interview with Frances Schumacher Andrews, Billie Schumacher Zuber, and Jeanne Schumacher Sutton, three sisters who grew up in Kerrville. They discuss their family history, the Schumacher family business and land, and individual experiences working at the Kerrville Courthouse, becoming an accountant, and joining the military.

Interview with Mary Elaine Adamek Jones, who worked as a labor and delivery nurse, got her doctorate of philosophy in cultural anthropology from Southern Methodist University, and directed the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Texas at Arlington before retiring after 25 years. She also taught nursing for 13 years at the University of the Incarnate Word in Kerrville. The interview details her father's career as an accomplished saddle maker, her education, and career, and family memories. Mary Elaine and her husband, Thomas, have two children. Oral history with Willa Mei Kurland and Charlotte Cotter regarding their trip to China to search for their birth parents. They discuss their expectations going into the trip, the attention they received from the Chinese media, and how they were embraced by Charlotte's birth family and Willa's foster family. Charlotte and Willa also speak about the aftermath of finding their birth and foster families and what their families' hopes and expectations are regarding future contact. This interview was conducted while Willa and Charlotte were in China on their birth parents search, towards the end of their trip.

Interview of Willa Mei Kurland and Charlotte Cotter (they interview each other), discussing their upcoming trip to China to search for their birth parents. They shares their first steps posting on social media and that Willa had begun contact with her foster family and that Charlotte has had a family step forward as her birth family. Both Willa and Charlotte shares their thoughts on searching with another person and the possibility of having different outcomes. They concurrently maintained a blog where they each shared their experiences regarding the trip and birth parent search and this interview took place after they began their search but before their trip to China.

Interview with Lily Stafeil regarding her adoption from Guangdong Province, China. This interview took place when Lily was nine years old and she speaks about her friends and favorite activities at school. Lily shares what she knows about her adoption story, China in general, and that she'd like to visit China when she's older.

Interview with Myra regarding the adoption of her younger sister, Lena, from China and their relationship with Lena's birth family in China. Myra speaks about meeting Lena's birth family and visiting their village.

Interview with Paul Kimberlin regarding the adoption of Avery Kimberlin from Jiangsu China, discussing his and his wife's decision to adopt from China, and their family and friend's reactions to their decision.

Interview with Zoi Kunkle and her mother, Pat Jacobs-Kunkle, regarding Zoi's adoption from Chenzhou City in Hunan Province, China. Zoi describes her future aspirations and her interests in her birth family and early life in China. Her mother shares her and her husband's decision to adopt and from China in particular, and their thoughts on searching for Zoi's birth family.

Oral history with Lena, Amy, and Robert regarding the adoption of Lena from Southern China. Robert and Amy discuss their successful search for Lena's birth family and the factors that contributed to their success. They also speak about the cultural differences between the United States and China and how they chose to maintain the relationship between their families. Robert and Amy also discuss the challenges of raising Lena in an international open adoption and the complex issues that can arise from maintaining relationship with birth families.
