There are some trees in the near background, and beyond that, the grey sky is visible. Handwritten notes on the back of the photograph identify the statue's subject and indicate the statue was built in 1996.

Two of the columns have wrought-iron gate pieces, with a wrought-iron sign saying "Salado College" connecting the two columns. Each of the gate-columns has a black metal placard in its face, with unintelligible writing on each. A gravel and dirt path leads through the gates to a wooded area to the left, while in the background to the right, a building with a red roof is visible. Handwritten notes and a white, rectangular sticker on the back of the photo indicate the gate served as the front entrance to Salado College.
