Eagan to George Pendexter describing the photograph on the reverse side as a fire in St. Louis on May 23, 1911 and saying that Pendexter's new fire truck "is a dandy" and gives a descriptions of its technical features. The photograph on the reverse side shows a large number of fire fighters working to put out a fire at one of the buildings in the city; Eagan says "This is one of several paper stock fire." Three of the photographed firemen are walking up the large pile of debris while most of the others are at ground level working the hoses and spraying water on the pile.
