There is a note on the reverse side of the card from Leda that reads: "Guessing you are glad that the time is almost here for you to come home you said you were anxious to see Harry's house. You ought to see Harry's dog. I told you Harry he thought more of the dog than he does of his sisters. Mayme wish you all a merry Xmas."

Letter from Albert Sydney Burleson to Dr. Joseph Pound detailing instructions on how to apply and be provided an increase in pensions from $12 to $16 as per his service in the Mexican American War. There is an enclosed document that shows the actual act of Congress that was passed to gain this increase; in part the act reads: "any person who served ninety days or more...during the late civil war or sixty days in the war with Mexico...be entitled to receive a pension as follows..." There is a three-tiered pension setup, those who are sixty two years or older gets $12, seventy years get $16, and seventy five or older get $20.

Postcard addressed to Mamie Collins in Central City, Nebraska, and is one of a set of four similar cards. The photograph shows a woman standing on a stone wall and looking down at a man sitting below another wall with a beam of sunlight shining from her face to his body; the caption underneath reads: "We'll be wedded to each other and the sunshine will be smiling on us too." There is also a note written on the back of the card in red ink.

Contract created after the death of George L. Leigh for the organization, operation, and ownership of the 320 acres of which he owned. The document explains, on page 3, which portions of the land and its assets will be owned by Virginia, Edward, and William Leigh; it also acknowledges that Virginia will assist Edward in fees to be paid for George's funeral, burial, and the administration of the land tract known as "Stoneleigh Ranch."
