A handwritten note on the back of the postcard is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. J. Claude Hill in Hartford, Michigan and says, "Dear Folks, Am getting along fine. Can limp around without my crutches. I am listed as a cannoneer and will be one of this bunch on the other side when I get well enough I expect! Will write you a letter soon. Loving son [?]."
