Postcard from L. H. Woods to George Pendexter with a photograph of two fire engines working on a fire in Los Angeles, California. Woods notes on the back that these are "Engines three and four working on hose tower," the photo shows the two engines shooting water up into the sky as they fight the fire. There are plenty of spectators and firemen alike standing on the ground watching.

Postcard from L. H. Woods to George Pendexter with two photographs on the reverse side of two house fires. Woods notes the fire on the left is at "8th and Hope St." with Engine 10 working on it, and the fire on the right is at "16th and Hill St." The photo on the left shows a horse-drawn fire wagon with a steamer engine on the back and a number of firemen working with it, the photo on the right is a view looking over a backyard fence to a house with smoke billowing out from the walls.

The building on the left has had its roof destroyed and some portions of its wall collapsed; the building in the foreground has had its walls damaged and roof destroyed as well.
