Letter from Henry Clay, Jr, to his family from Scotland while he takes a course on gunnery. Clay has nothing but good things to say about the picturesque landscape and nice hotel he is staying in. One of the boys in his detachment also received word that commissions are imminent.

Letter from Henry Clay, Jr. to his family back home during his stay in Scotland. In he first half of the letter Clay is thanking his mother for the box she sent him and some pictures as well; afterwards Clay goes into talking about being the first American Squadron to "fight Huns," and possibly being made a captain by the time they depart for France.

Letter from Henry Clay, Jr. to his family discussing his posting to his squadron and his address will be changing. He goes on to express his love for his mother and his desire to save as much money as possible while overseas.

Letter from C. K. Griggs to his son Charles R. Griggs concerning daily life back home; the letter actually is written by Charles' mother as she says "Daddy and I were hot and hostess at the USO for Sunday night." Later she discusses the new lace cloth being made and saying that cloth at home runs "from 10 cents to 25 cents per yard."

Letter to Charles R. Griggs from his parents wishing him a happy Easter while he is overseas. The bulk of the letter discusses daily life back home in Texas, including their work on the house and yard; at the end they ask Charles to send them the address of a boy in his company that is without parents as they would "like to be mother and dad to him." The back of the letter has a quote that reads: "My Easter prayer for you is this: That you may have a goodly part Of all the beauty of the day - Its joy, its hope, its peace of heart!"

Letter from the parents of Captain Charles R. Griggs concerning their recent efforts in spring cleaning their home: "I started spring house cleaning, the xxxx living room and [dining] room have been finished." Mrs. Griggs also would like her china from France but "it was bought when sets of six were made, now I need eight."

Letter written to Mr. Featherstone from E.J. Gurley, providing information about a recent legal case.

Letter from Lieutenant Colonel O. W. Hartwell to Captain Charles R. Griggs discussing different battalions and regiments; Hartwell has had his battalion for a while and had recently been pulled out of the line. Hartwell also says he has seen only "one of the old gang" in Chris Daley; there is also indecision on who will go to Rucker and "who would go on the list."

Letter from A. F. Hicks to Dr. Joseph Pound, Surgeon General 3rd Brigade discussing the news that some of their former officers have "offered their services to the government" and that he is preparing his department so that if his brigade were called up "we would be ready for Service in a short time."

Letter from Ida Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, mostly describing her mother's accident in which she fell at her house and messed up her leg causing her to be confined to her bed for at least six weeks. She goes on to say that she wants him to come and visit the next time he comes up; she also asks about the rest of the family and how they are doing.

Letter from Mrs. Lee Threatt to Earl Yates, Sr. explaining that she will pay her bill as soon as she possibly can.

Bill of costs in probate matter in accordance with the estate of Michael Collins. This account lists the costs and fees towards the clerk, sheriff, and judge, totaling to $16.10. The note at the bottom of the paper reads: "I, J. W. Baker, Clerk of the County Court in and for said County and State, hereby certify the above to be a correct copy of the original Bill of Costs now on file in my office."
