She thanks Griggs and the other men and women for their service and hopes that the war will be over soon. Included, also, is the envelope the letter was delivered in.

Letter from Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Griggs to their son Captain Charles R. Griggs of the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. The letter mostly talks about the death of their grandfather who died suddenly, Mr. Griggs had been away in Big Spring as it happened. The rest of the letter talks about the grandfather's dislike for smoking and drinking; finally Mrs. Griggs says that they pray for her son's safety as well as the rest of the boys.

Letter from the Texas State Department of Health to B. L. Nelson & Associates, Inc. in regards to their "revised plans and specifications" for the sewage treatment plant and lines proposal. The letter expresses approval of the plan and deems it worth to be sent to the Federal Water Quality Administration "for their review and subsequent approval."

Letter written to Josephine Bahl from George L. Meyer while Josephine was in Mascoutah, Illinois visiting relatives. Meyer says that he will be visiting Mascoutah soon and wants to eat with her in the morning; he also mentions the fact someone sent him a letter and he wants to talk to her about the sender.

Letter from Mrs. D. C. Riley to Dr. Joseph Pound telling him that she has received word from Dr. Powell saying that Powell would like to meet Dr. Pound. The rest of the letter she goes on to talk about meeting up with the Pound family at the Fredericksburg fair but that her family would not be staying the entire time.

Letter to Dr. Joseph Pound from Mittie Pound Sorrell concerning to freezing weather up in Oklahoma; they look forward to moving once they are able to get out. She is sorry that they will not be able to make it down for Christmas but do look forward to the next time they make it down.
