[Photograph of George Jodarski and his prize calf]

Photograph of George Jodarski and his prize calf. The photograph was taken in 1940 at the Jodarski's second house (one house closer to Richmond on the same side of the road). Albert Peyton George gave Jodarski the calf and he entered it in the Fort Bend County Fair where he won Grand Champion. Albert George bought the calf at the Fort Bend County Fair auction and gave it back to Jodarski. Jodarski then entered the calf in the Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition, where it placed 2nd. The calf was named "Snowball". The photograph shows a white calf with a rosette pinned to his halter. George is standing near the calf's head and he has both of his hands on the calf's halter. Jodarski is wearing dark colored pants, white belt, dark short sleeved shirt, and a hat. There is an automobile in right background, and another in left background. A white wooden building can partially be seen in center background.

The photograph was taken from the front pasture with the shrub lined white fence posts as boundary between the pasture and the front driveway leading to the ranch house. On the other side of the driveway is a white picket fence that encloses the white wooden two story house. This view is the east approach of the ranch house. The top and bottom porches have been screened in and the once shuttered windows are now unadorned. The top of the cistern house, with its weather vane, can be seen over the roof of the main house just to the left of the two brick chimneys. A metal gate to the left of the house leads to a barn in right background partially seen between the trees. The garage is a white wooden building also seen through trees on far left. Stamped on the back of the photograph: "Humble Oil & Refining Company Houston, Texas Photo By: Mel Coston". This photograph was taken after January 19, 1940.
