The letter is in regards to the idea of teacher-presenters at Texas Art Education Association meetings, believing it is an excellent suggestion. Stephens has already contacted Linda Alford from Plano and Jan Schronk from Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, about commitments to their teachers and helping to host. Included in the letter are suggestions about helping cater to presenter needs.

Mentioning a meeting, that Nasher chaired on, which energized the entire faculty and how disappointed McCarter is, because of scheduling conflicts, that Nasher will be unable to participate in the leadership retreat scheduled for June 1. McCarter also mentions literature that he forwarded to Nasher and hopes the he understands the enthusiasm for the concepts behind the NTIEVA's projects. McCarter then mentions that Dallas I.S.D. was unable to continue as a consortium district because of finalized details, yet McCarter hopes to reactivate Dallas after meeting with Howard Dunn and conversing with Janice Wiggins. Wiggins requested that the grant money, intended to be used for support of Dallas I.S.D's participation in the Secondary Institute be used to stipends for participants of the Elementary Institute instead. Davis writes back that this is not possible for several reason which he encloses in the letter, the first being that he does not want to jeopardize the relationship with his funders by using the grants for something that was not made clear in the condition when the money was given. Davis explains that if the money is not used for its original intended purpose for which they were in agreement, then they are obligated to return the money back. McCarter says that it is imperative that art teachers at both an elementary and secondary level be exposed to excellent presentations and that Georgia Blades is working with the program for Texas Art Education Fall Meeting in Fort Worth, hoping that Holland and Blades could connect for a repeat presentation to the members of TAEA. Broadus hopes that O'Neal will consider this opportunity for her students and to contact her as soon as possible to discuss further details.

Broadus has gifted Livingston overhead transparencies to be used in Livingston's transportation unit curriculum. The transparencies include, Winslow Homer's Breezing Up (A Fair Wind) and other similar subjects for the elementary school children. Broadus ends the letter by suggesting a class visitation to correlate a lesson plan for the children in arts and language.

Davis and McCarter writes that being a member of the advisory committee they will periodically review the activities of the Institute and serve as liaison between the community and the Institute, which serves as stepping stone towards comprehensive visual arts program being integrated in school districts. Davis and McCarter write that they are excited about the opportunity to improve the quality of visual arts for students and develop a more informed audience. Rosenberg notes that there have been new developments with the NTIEVA program and is hesitant using a proposal from the FY95 year, and so to proceed with the review process they need to submit a proposal that is up to date. Wiggins writes that Dallas ISD will be unable to continue their participation in the extension of the Getty grant for the 1995-1996 school years, due to time consideration and budgeting. However, there might be a possibility for participation for the 1997-1998 school year if they're able to pick up DISD's school funding needs. Wiggins concludes, saying how much she enjoyed her involvement with the NTIEVA consortium and to let them know of any opportunities to work with North Texas and the Getty Foundation again.

In regards to an upcoming class visitation on January 8th and how Broadus will plan to present a lesson dealing with winter. In regards to some Museum rights that North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts violated in regards to the printing and reproduction of photographic work. Comerford writes that the DMA is happy to participate as a consortia of NTIEVA, however, they need to follow standardized requirements listed in the letter. Duke responds that she wants to think about this request as they are only given a specific amount of copies, so as to not undercut the National PTA who sells copies of the kit.
