McCarter writes that he has reviewed the draft of the National Arts Standards, paying close attention to the implication for aesthetics in art. Describing his recent trip to Canada, McCarter mentions that many presentations encountered the same problems in identifying common traits found in art. McCarter continues to say he does not see the dilemma in using the word aesthetic as it means various things to different people.

A vision statement submitted by The Southeast Institute for Education in the Visual Arts, SIEVA. The statement details the institute's goals of providing a model for art education advocacy and education reform through its leveraging support for discipline-based arts education. The vision statement also describes the programs that SIEVA has developed in order to achieve their goals for educational reformation, by offering maintenance programs, professional development programs, technical assistance services and more.

A vision statement from the Minnesota DBAE Consortium Center of Excellence. The vision statement details the consortium's mission, to empower teachers, parents and students to explore and examine and experience the broad expanse of human ideas. The vision statement describes the programs developed by the consortium as ways to accomplish their goals, services that include professional development programs, maintenance and renewal programs, technical assistance and more.

A detailed report in regards to the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts approaching the task of strategic planning using a traditional planning model. The model includes the following elements, Situational Analysis, Development of Planning Assumptions, Affirmation of Purpose, Articulation of Vision, Statement of Mission, Development of Objectives and Methods of Measuring, and so forth. The strategic planning was then implemented.

Their mission will be implemented through three programmatic areas: Regional Consortia; Model Schools; National Specialty featuring DBAE Instruction / Assessment Models.

Stating their disappointment for the schedule conflict that prevents him from being able to participate in NTIEVA, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, 1993 Summer Institute Administrator's Day. As such they are inviting Woolery to participate in an Administrator's Day for Dallas I.S.D. at the Meadows Museum at SMU and then the new wing of the Dallas Museum of Art. Their primary goal is to introduce NTIEVA to the new directors of the museum and introduce them to the DISD administrators. McCarter, Davis and Reynolds would like Woolery to present a greeting during the introductions of the day, and are having Janice Wiggins working with his secretary to schedule a day for this event in allowance of other key administrators to attend.
