The retreat is for twenty adults for the nights of March 14 - 18 at Ghost Ranch Conference Center north of Aliquiu, New Mexico. Reynolds mentions that participants can go on to mini-seminars and excursions or just enjoy free time and relax. Attached to the letter is Fletcher's evaluation summary.

The University of North Texas received a grant from the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation, who have promised to fund the UNT Marcus Fellows Program. The new grant will fund five graduate students each year, fifteen total for three years, and each will receive a stipend of $15,000. In return the graduate students much work with the university faculty, museum staff and school teachers to create and test innovative ways to teach art.

Many administrative officials believe that arts and arts education are fluff and use their budgeting elsewhere. However, many organizations in Texas strive to highlight the importance of art and art education by conducting studies and research.

In regards to developing focus groups to determine the level of knowledge and interest DBAE, discipline-based art education, has among the various groups. The focus of the groups are to determine if there should be an increase in communication about DBAE. The focus groups will be made up of school administrators, principals, superintendents, and such.

The calendars should include meetings of advisory committees, consortium, faculty, management and so forth. Rosenberg also writes that for the upcoming National Conference that each institute only bring 500 copies of their brochure for handouts and omit any newsletters as they aren't necessary.

Six local elementary schools and a high-school are working with the University of North Texas Center for Professional Development and Technology students to develop technology that provides advance education. Another collaborative effort involves North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, a two-week program that trains educators to incorporation art education into the daily curriculum.
