Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, NTIEVA, to Vicki Rosenberg, program officer for the Getty Center, in regards to Rosenberg's interest in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Worth. Reynolds states the the Club initially wanted NTIEVA to develop an art program for the six branches of Fort Worth, however, the person in charge of the program has no real power to implement the art program and their program director is opposed to the idea in general. Reynolds writes that the participants of the seminars feel that an art program is important and they want to implement programs into their branches, but unsure if progress will be made.

Inviting Dallas Independent School District into a five year plan with NTIEVA, since their last minute implementation process prevented Dallas from becoming part of the Institute previously. Details about what is required from the district is written at the end of the letter and that McCarter will be happy to discuss further details of financial obligations.

The seminar is being presented by North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, and will address the correlation between art and Texas Assessment of Academic Skills, TAAS. Inviting Pacey and other staff members of Young Audiences to three live, interactive teleworkshops on the arts. Cason writes that their institute has arranged for viewing space and the use of an 800 telephone line in Chilton Hall of UNT campus for the upcoming events. Thanking McCarter and co., for his invitation to a special Administrators Day at the Dallas Museum of Art, however, Woolery is concerned that there are only five of the Dallas I.S.D. areas being represented in the group of invitee and that within his letter he asks the area directors to ensure that all ten areas are included on that day by replacement or addition. Woolery ends the letter by stating that due to his schedule, it will not permit for his full attendance but he'll share lunch and some of the afternoon's agenda what he can. To discuss the upcoming newsletter that Reynolds would like to distribute in September but needs information from Perkins on the Charlie Russell presentation scheduled for October. As well as inform Perkins that the institute is planning to offer a retreat for the consortium members at Ghost Ranch Conference Center in Abiquiu, New Mexico from March 14 - 18, 1993, and requests some Georgia O'Keefee's slides for a short presentation at the conference.

Thanking Wiggins for her time working with NTIEVA, and meeting with Dr. Brooks-Ray and Howard Dunn to discuss interest in the program for staff development. The Institute and the district face uncertain economic conditions but McCarter and Cason believe if they could stretch their first year budget they could pay a team member (kindergarten and first grade teacher, art specialist and principal) a stipend of $50 a day to attend the three-week institute during the summer. However, since Dallas was not written into the original implementation grant they will have to review it with the Getty Center and cannot promise continued support past the year.

Welcoming Dantzler to the second summer institute conducted by North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts being held from June 17 - 28. A letter from Jack Davis, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts to colleague, James "Jim" J. Muro. In the letter Davis says that he has received a letter from Leland C. Clemons, Executive Vice President for the NCNB Texas in Fort Worth with a check for $77,870 from the Crystelle Waggoner Trust to be put into the Unrestricted gift account. Enclosed with the letter to Muro is the letter from Clemons to Davis.

A letter from Mary Ann Stankiewicz, program officer at the Getty Center for Education in the Arts, to Jack Davis, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. The letter is in regards to the planned April meeting for discipline-based art education National Dissemination Project. Leilani Lattin Duke and Stankiewicz met to discuss the models that were proposed and have included brief summaries of the three components that they are currently considering and they would appreciated Davis' thoughts. Included in the memo are the DBAE National Dissemination Project Components in further details.

The memo is in regards to an attached letter and invitation list of invitees to the regional funder's meeting, October 9th, 1993. Carter Foundation, inviting him to the meeting. The Center is hosting the meeting to recognize the partnerships that have grown over the past five years. Prairie Visions is working on distance learning and plans to do their state renewal conference by uplinking with others and sharing dialogue. Brown also expresses interest if North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts were to be involved in the satellite conference.
