Thanking him for graciously agree to be chair of the Advisory Committee for the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Davis and McCarter writes that being a member of the advisory committee they will periodically review the activities of the Institute and serve as liaison between the community and the Institute, which serves as stepping stone towards comprehensive visual arts program being integrated in school districts. Included in the letter are details about what to expect from being a committee member and the types of meetings they hope to have during the following year. Davis and McCarter write that they are excited about the opportunity to improve the quality of visual arts for students and develop a more informed audience. The letter states that enclosed are a list of people who have been invited to participate as committee members as well as a packet of materials that were sent to them. The list and materials are not present with the letter.

Under project narrative is a brief summary of the founding and primary goals of the institute. Included in the application are expenditures for the institute, application checklist, a five-year budget, an executive summary, evaluation summaries and a newspaper clipping featuring an article on the success of the program in public schools.

A memo from Stevie Mack, assistant director, Improving Instruction in Visual Arts Education, to the IVAE Consultants. The memo is in regards to the the current IVAE consultants to help identify thirty new consultants for the IVAE project. The nominations need to be experienced district personnel, teachers, art specialists, art supervisors, assistant superintendents, etc. Each person is allowed to nominate three educators and include a brief paragraph supporting teach nomination.
