Photocopy of a letter from María Dolores Álvarez-Rodríguez, Department of Education, University of Granada, Spain, to Jack Davis, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Rodriguez is a professor at Granada University, working on her Ph.D. on Art Education and is interested in DBAE, discipline-based art education. Having contacted the Getty Center for more information they re-addressed her to the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Rodriguez hopes that Davis will be able to send her some information regarding the teacher training program and other subjects in its relation, along with the inquiry about outside observers to attend meetings / seminars if possible.

Photocopy of a letter from Kevin J. Comerford, Visual Resource Librarian of the Dallas Museum of Art, to Bill McCarter, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. In regards to some Museum rights that North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts violated in regards to the printing and reproduction of photographic work. Comerford writes that the DMA is happy to participate as a consortia of NTIEVA, however, they need to follow standardized requirements listed in the letter. All further correspondence should be sent to Comerford's office addressed listed at the end of the letter.

Photocopy of a letter from Jack Davis and Bill McCarter, co-directors of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Char Woolery, Acting Superintendent for Dallas ISD. Davis and McCarter start the letter by congratulating Woolery on his new position as Acting Superintendent, giving him well wishes for the extremely important position. However, Davis and McCarter continue stating they are not thrilled with the principals participation in activities during the Summer Institutes. Stating that the leadership within the individual schools need an understanding of discipline-based art education and that they are planning a special day for administrators to construct the curriculum before any implementation can take place. Davis and McCarter have checked every district calendar in their consortium and determined that the administrator day would happen on June 8th, 1993, however, they regret to inform Woolery that Dallas principals will not be able to participate due to June 8th not being workable for them. Davis and McCarter then propose that they'd have another opportunity for the administrators specially for DISD in the fall. The letter ends with the promise of sending an invitation to the administrators of DISD at a later date.

It got Schafer thinking about how her son's school district has considered down-sizing their arts department due to funding being low, and most administrators believe art and music is fluff. Schafer challenges this notion by stating that her sons music exercise helped him understand fractions.

Kay Carter Forston is president of the private nonprofit foundation that funds and governs the Kimbell, along with her husband independent oilman Ben J. Fortson being the vice president and chief financial officer. During the Kimbell Art Museum's opening in October 1972, they were worried they didn't have enough definitive artwork to fill the museum.

The memo is in regards to Duke sending a copy of a video containing three ninety second public service announcements, a join project last fall with Fox Children's Network. Each of the PSAs tell a story, giving concrete examples of the ways in which the arts can be relevant and enriching to children's lives.

A e-mail from Mark Withers to William McCarter, April 15, 1993 with the subject: Two way transmissions. The e-mail is in regards prior correspondence between the two, with Wither saying the use of the studio for an activity depends on the format of the lecture.

In regards to Davis's letter which informed Montford about North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Montford writes that he is a supporter of the arts in education and of arts programs in general, and has introduced SB 778, designed to provide more funding source for the Texas Commission on the Arts. Montford writes that be believe the bill's chances of passage and thanks Davis again for his letter.
