Williams has attached an enclosed statement that identifies several of the Center's national projects.

A letter from Peter Chant, Director of Educational Services, Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission, to Mike Feduk, Satellite Educational Resources Consortium, SERC. The letter is in regards to prior correspondence between Chant and Feduk, that the Nebraska ETV in cooperation with Nebraska Department of Education will be producing a one and a half hour teleconference. A document from the Nebraska Department of Education for the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission. The document states that the contractor, the NETC, will produce an interactive teleconference featuring projects from Nebraska Institute and the North Texas Institute in discipline-based art education. The document goes into the legalities of the teleconference along with the budgeting for the project.

The memo is in regards to the Directors' meeting in Santa Barbara. Leilani Lattin Duke mentioned the ASCD newsletter devoted to discipline-based theater education at the meeting and Rosenberg has a attached a copy of the issue.

This newsletter informs about William McCarter and Jack Davis having presented "Multiculturalism: Visual Perspectives" to the Association of General Education International Conference in Denton. McCarter and Davis also presented "Visual Arts in Context: Arts Program in Schools at a Music Symposium 92: Growing and Developing in the Arts.

A memorandum from Richard L. Simms, to the College of Educational Faculty in regards Chancellor Hurley and Simms returning from a Project Bluebonnet sponsored by Phone Company Summit at the Tower Club in Dallas regarding support for SchooLINC and Processional Development Center. Simms writes that all of the phone companies are now committed to proving the phone lines necessary to transmit interactive instructional video and high speed data transfer free of charge for the project's first year. The project in question is the teleconference between Texas and the Nebraska Institute.

A e-mail from William McCarter to Jack Davis, co-directors of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. The e-mail is in regards to McCarter talking with Sheila Brown the other day about the cost of the propose October D.L. activities. Brown has asked if the North Texas Institute could cover some of the uplink bill but McCarter responded that they were spending $5000 on a video and had no additional funding.

A NETV Production Proposal filled out by Luis Peon-Casanova, the Director and Producer of ETV. The proposal is for the Texas and Nebraska Teleconference on October 21, 1992. The teleconference is for elementary and secondary teachers in Discipline-Based Art Education which will focus on the differences and similarities to the approach to art instruction in Nebraska and Texas. The document goes into the expenses and supplies needed for the teleconference.

Which states that majority of Americans believe that art and art courses should be part of the regular curriculum and paid for out of the school budget. Ninety-one percent of those polled say it is important for children to learn about the arts and develop artistic skills in schools.
