Davis and McCarter regret that Wright was unable to join them for the executive briefing on the North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, "North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts" (NTIEVA), Wednesday, June 19. Following the briefing was an all-day workshop, Friday, June 21 which was attended by staff representatives from each consortium in the Institute, to discuss grant proposals which with offer opportunities for staff development and curriculum implementation in the visual arts. Enclosed at the end of the letter to Wright is information the functional committees and their list of responsibilities, for the upcoming Matching Funds Advisory Committee and Wright's assistance in its regard. Photocopy of a letter from Bruce M. Burton, Office of Advancements, University of North Texas to Ann Swartzberg, Development Director, School of Fine Arts. In regards to the recent turn down from the Richardson Foundation and J.C Penny to match grant funding from the Getty Center. Burton hopes that Swartzberg will look over the proposal and make any comments which would help strengthen their case.

Photocopy of a letter from Warren B. Newman, Director of Arts in Education, National Endowment for the Arts, to Jack Davis, Vice Provost and Professor of Art at North Texas State University. In regards to a letter Davis has sent to Newman prior indicating NTSU's intention to apply for the Speical Project grant from the Arts in Education program. Newman reminds Davis that all applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, as no late applications will be accepted.

A memo from Vicki Rosenberg, program officer at the Getty Center for Education in the Arts, to the Regional Institute Directors, Sheila Brown, Jack Davis, Margaret DiBlasio, Catherine Emihovich, Gary Hoeltke, Frances Lawrenze, Anne Lindsey, Bill Loadman, Jessie Lovano-Kerr, Nancy MacGregor, Bill McCarter, Tom McMullen, Ted Miller and Nancy Roucher. The memo is in regards to the Fall meeting on Student Assessment, the meeting has to be moved back and they've reached out to the directors on schedule for either November 4-7, 1989 or November 11-14, 1989. Rosenberg requests they keep the dates open until further notice.
