Reynolds continues, wanting to let Fletcher know that the Ghost Ranch Spring Retreat idea has become reality, and that she'll send details in the upcoming newsletter. The retreat is for twenty adults for the nights of March 14 - 18 at Ghost Ranch Conference Center north of Aliquiu, New Mexico. Reynolds mentions that participants can go on to mini-seminars and excursions or just enjoy free time and relax. Attached to the letter is Fletcher's evaluation summary.

In regards to their conversation days prior with Davis offering suggestions on how to handle "Friends" award nominations in the future. Suggestions such as the person making the nomination provide additional information besides a letter, the general background on the nominee, contributions to the field of art, letters from two other individuals who support the nominee. Rosenberg states that the funding has been sent to Harold Williams, president of the J. Paul Getty Trust, for review yet being unaware of his schedule she cannot give them a specific notification date of the funding approvals or deny. Rosenberg thanks Davis and McCarter for the informative progress report and has made a series of comments and questions that she would like answered and returned no later than September 1, 1994.

Davis agrees to cover a majority of the stipends and funding so long as DISD covers 50% of the stipends for seven of their teams. A newspaper clipping, published by the Denton Record-Chronicle, features an article written by Lucinda Breeding, staff writer, titled "UNT program gets $600,000." The University of North Texas received a grant from the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation, who have promised to fund the UNT Marcus Fellows Program. The new grant will fund five graduate students each year, fifteen total for three years, and each will receive a stipend of $15,000. In return the graduate students much work with the university faculty, museum staff and school teachers to create and test innovative ways to teach art.
