In a second letter from Leilani Lattin Duke informs Davis, Elder and McCarter that the Center has agreed to provide a $800 to NTIEVA for the "All Participants' Day Video Teleconference".

The memo is in regards to the special Getty-Sponsored two-week summary staff development discipline-based art education inservice for July 1990. A free satellite video tele-conference on Art For All will be broadcast nationwide downlinks May 15, 1990. Included in the memo is the flyer which gives more details about the conference.

Thanking him for graciously agree to be chair of the Advisory Committee for the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Davis and McCarter writes that being a member of the advisory committee they will periodically review the activities of the Institute and serve as liaison between the community and the Institute, which serves as stepping stone towards comprehensive visual arts program being integrated in school districts. Included in the letter are details about what to expect from being a committee member and the types of meetings they hope to have during the following year. Davis and McCarter write that they are excited about the opportunity to improve the quality of visual arts for students and develop a more informed audience. The letter states that enclosed are a list of people who have been invited to participate as committee members as well as a packet of materials that were sent to them. The list and materials are not present with the letter.

A memo from Jack Davis and William McCarter, co-directors of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Brent Wilson and John White. The memo is in regards to the written report on the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts summer institute and the spring implementation visit, the full report will be available in the future but they wanted to provide an overview of observations during their visitation. Included in the summary are suggestions and recommendations from the issues they have observed and deemed to be rectified.

Photocopy of a letter from Bill McCarter, Jack Davis and Nancy Reynolds, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Chad Woolery, Acting Superintendent of Dallas ISD. Stating their disappointment for the schedule conflict that prevents him from being able to participate in NTIEVA, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, 1993 Summer Institute Administrator's Day. As such they are inviting Woolery to participate in an Administrator's Day for Dallas I.S.D. at the Meadows Museum at SMU and then the new wing of the Dallas Museum of Art. Their primary goal is to introduce NTIEVA to the new directors of the museum and introduce them to the DISD administrators. McCarter, Davis and Reynolds would like Woolery to present a greeting during the introductions of the day, and are having Janice Wiggins working with his secretary to schedule a day for this event in allowance of other key administrators to attend.

A newspaper clipping featuring an article about Mary Lee Kendrick, producer and designer of the Community Arts Recognition Award, or CARA, for the Greater Denton Arts Council. On February 28, Kendrick will be receiving the 1992 CARA, for all of her community activities, taking home a copy of the bronze sculpture she helped designed. The remaining article goes into details about Kendrick and the type of community work she has done.

Electronic Artstrands by Guy Hubbard, Indiana University. A document on Electronic Artstrands, a program designed to permit students to print the text of any lesson that interests them, making the purchase of a textbook unnecessary. The electronic program also makes provision for students to build personal files to store images that appeal to them.

A newspaper clipping featuring an article on the University of North Texas partnering with the Annenberg Foundation, the Getty Education Institute for the Arts, the National Arts Education Consortium to bring six metroplex elementary schools and thirty others nationwide in a $15 million experiment for education reform. The five-year grant will provide professional development, implementation of arts curricula and school reform strategies.

An article written by Kit King for the Denton Record-Chronicle about Mary Lee Kendrick and her reception of the CARA award. The article covers her work in the Denton art scene and also with Hopewell Junction, New Yorks's Community Cultural Arts Center and pottery with Crafts Student League and the 92nd Street Y Pottery in New York.
